Statement from fan groups ahead of new season

As an example. We got to Tebay on Sunday and the car packed in. We limped back to Scotland just in time to see the game on TV. We could see our seats empty. Far too late to put them on the exchange. Shit happens.
At least the result was good.
That’s a real shame. Missed a great match.
Good to have the explanation though - they clearly weren’t empty because the club couldn’t sell them

Am I misunderstanding this? The club have said:

"Our best advice is to see how you go, and if you're struggling to attend a lot of matches let us know via access@mancity.com and we will add an exemption to your accounts."

They’ve agreed to add an exemption if you’re struggling. Isn’t that what you wanted?
Yes we asked for an exemption if we felt he may struggle to make the 10 minimum.

Todays response is below
"Your request for a 10 game exemption for him has been denied. He will need to attend or aim to attend 10 home Premier league games to stay on currently level of season ticket. He will not loose his season ticket but will be moved over to a Flexi season ticket for the 2026/27 season."

Don’t give up. They haven’t said no yet. Just before the end of the season if you have good reason, email the club again requesting an exemption for the good reasons you provide. Any problem - go above their heads to Danny Wilson. He has to take a sympathetic view if your son has had his ST for years & a good reason for not going 10 times this year. I suggest you put his ticket on the exchange when he can’t go - then they can’t accuse you of passing it to F&F (at an inflated price). Just pre-empting all possibilities
I got the below today, he's only managed 2 games so far for the reasons I explained to them in May. Plus we had a Uni visit and a bereavement so missed 2 games he would of attended.

So many threads on here detailing true fans and decent people being fucked up the arse by the club they've devoted their whole life to supporting and it all leads back to one man's door - Soriano

This **** is getting away scot free with ripping the soul out of the club, something needs to be done about him

Well as you appear to have good reasons for missing games, escalate it to Danny Wilson. It’s not acceptable to dismiss requests without giving the same detailed reasons for denying your exemption, in the same way they expect you to provide detailed reasons for not making 10. Don’t expect you to state your reasons on here but don’t accept it - take it further. That’s why the club have senior execs and directors - to run the club & listen to fans.

Whilst I disagree with the clubs policy re the 10 attendance requirement- I don’t believe you can point to Soriano as the problem.
We mustn’t have short memories like some fans of raggy clubs. When City were taken over & the Spaniards started their work, including appointing Pep, we were raving about the quality of our management

Where is your evidence that Soriano is the sole instigator?

Ah, you hadn’t included today’s response which casts a completely different light on the matter. Aside from the egregious spelling of “loose” it’s possible you’re dealing with someone completely unaware of your previous correspondence (bugbear of mine is that any query sent to the club garners an answer from a non-reply email so you can never guarantee you’re dealing with the same personnel.)
I’d do as others have mentioned- send your original correspondence to Danny Wilson. I can only speak from personal experience- he’s been absolutely brilliant for me.

Had the se getting plastic cards, it wasn't a no-reply so I started by replying to last year's positive response. The person who replied some how did so without having access to the email trail when I referred her to the questions already answer in 2024.

They have always had a front line of gatekeeping staff with standard responses who are often missing the point completely.

Yep. Danny is a great guy & will do his best to help.

Thanks mate

I did include the previous correspondence in all my mails to them and when i spoke to them yesterday they had it on file.

I have emailed Angela Worall @ City Matters. Where can I get Danny's email address from, I'll send him an email too?

Should it come to this.
As amazing the ride we have all been on since our owners came in.
It's been unbelievable.
But at the expense of loyal fans walking away.
9320 was the moment for me .
Anything after that was a bonus.
But I walked away 2 years ago.
My dad's been going 65 years.
For one reason or another hrs spending more time at his lady friends house.
So he's missing a few games.
When I told him he had to attend so many him self or he would have his ticket taken off him.
He actually said are you taking the piss.
If that's the case fuck them .

This isnt the family club the city I grew up with.
Queuing up at the souvenir shop at Maine rd.
I felt part of something then.
Not now

Its an interesting question. My take on it is this. They can't sell them all, even for the big games, in spite of all the so called new fans and tourists desperate to buy them. On Sunday, for the second home game running, there was at least six empty seats behind me. Two of those i know are regular season ticket holders who I'm sure would have put their tickets on the exchange if they couldn't attend. Of course something occurring last minute may have prevented them doing so. Now given how important that game was and considering the opposition, why were they empty?
The club changing the time limit to put tickets on the Exchange up from 3hrs to 24hrs notice is so anti-fan it's unbelievable. Who is winning from that? It just means supporters are closer to losing seasontickets with the increased usage limits.

It's understandable why many season ticket holding Blues feel like the club wants to get rid of us.

This is shocking, I'm so sorry Blue, hopefully they see sense. To put that much stress on your family, after making it seem like it'd be fine, is atrocious.

I don't think the club wants any season ticket holders.
A ground full off tourists would be perfect.
Play a fake atmosphere over the speakers.
Everyone pays loads of money for a ticket.
Goes to the shop.
Spends loads.
Puts plenty of videos on tiktwat.
Repeat the week after

Probably exactly why they do.it. i have attended all six home games this season so far so i have four games to go out of thirteen to meet the new criteria. A quick look at the fixtures tells me two.of those are a 20:00 kick off so they're written off. I am going away over Christmas and New year so I'll miss games then. I should get to the Leeds and Sunderland games before i go away so that puts me up to eight games. That leaves me two games to do on my return. Of course any games i can't attend i will put onto the ticket exchange. I don't like all this though, having to plan my life around a football fixture list after fifty seven years of loyal support. If i lose my season ticket that will be it for me. No memberships, nothing, I'll watch it on the tv or an app. Nothing would get me back through the turnstiles again.

Hopefully it doesn't come to that Blue, need as many of us as possible standing together against whatever rubbish they try on us next. A small part of me still hopes we can overturn this 10 game limit.

I'm worried they're trying to get rid of/put off as many as possible from renewing this year. We still haven't heard the renewal rates..

Our system regarding tickets and everything that involves as been a disgrace for too long. People at boardroom level get paid the big bucks. Therefore shoulder some of the blame.
Soriano included.
The kings shilling springs to mind.
