There is that but as far as Bayern are concerned they are only looking for cover rather than an outright replacement. That's assuming Neuer comes back from his Skiing injury the same player.

Should have kept Trafford
I can tell you now, we won’t get a no.2 keeper that can do everything Ortega can do. He might just be as good as it can possibly get for that role. So much so that it can only ever be a 1-year thing. He’s too good. We just take the pure profit on him and search for another feeebie or cheap, experienced keeper to come in.
Listed as our player, but out having had knee surgery. What's happening with Zack Steffan?
Would he be happy to go being our backup for a year until we have secured his replacement and then go next summer?
Tbh I think City would be far more accommodating with him being a no.2 keeper. Honestly, if you’re to treat players as human beings, like City do, I think you have to recognise when a player who barely plays has an opportunity of a lifetime. Just think it’s totally different with reserve keepers. They might be the only players in a squad that are actually doing their club a favour, by being happy to just play the odd cup game. This move can even get him national team caps. I don’t think it would take more than £25m to sign him. That’s £25m pure profit on our books too. £50m is fanciful. He’s 30 and a no.2 keeper. That limits the price a lot.He is contracted till 2025 we can tell Bayern it's 50m

The problem would be replacing him though, esp now Trafford has gone.Tbh I think City would be far more accommodating with him being a no.2 keeper.
