If Gala has interest in him, there's no better project currently for him than the Turkish team. I know they're interested in Dibu.

I just don't see him being okay with being #3 goalie all season despite the easy wages. I believe Turkey and Saudi leagues have different window end dates so those might be the way to go for him and his agent.

Hes had several opportunities to leave. He clearly isn't interested in playing, he came across as very professional and a nice fella but this has soured it for me.

Why? Its fine to not take a pay cut to go play somewhere you don't like. If not now something will pop in January when a top team finds itself in a jam.

I have no problem with him.waiting for a good situation. Rather than jumping on the first cheap opening.

We might not like it as City fans but i totally understand if.

Turkish and Saudi windows are still open, I expect he’ll do to one of those countries

Presumably he has hopes of going to the WC as a squad member and he won’t do that sat in the stands at City

He'll need to see the writing on the wall... He's 3rd choice barring an injury to 1 or 2 and has the emergency keeper behind him in Berty.

Great for him if he locks up a starting job in Saudi or Turkey but does fuck all for us in meeting our needs.

At one point, it looked like Eddie would leave and it would he between him and Trafford for the no.1 spot. He may have been hedging his bets on that, and then the offers weren't there after that. He may still leave, but if not, no issues with him being left out of the CL squad. He can still be no.3 in the PL and cups.

He was never getting that position, everyone knew it. He clearly just doesn't care, which is fair, big contract and he can sit at home every weekend. Just a shame really, he didn't come across like that.
 
Rumours that a Turkish team that I can't spell are interested(Transpansor?) This guy needs to leave for his own good. I'll always be eternally grateful for that save, but he's 3rd choice now(maybe even 4th) and if he wants to stay and pick up his wages then that's sad. I hope he gets a move.

I was hoping Galatasary would be in for him. Ederson in the city, Gundo at the club, he would love it there and play CL footy.

They won the league about 3 seasons ago and are a bit unusual in that they are not based in Istanbul.
Not sure how appealing a team not in Istanbul would be but they are currently second in their league
 
I was always confused how we were able to convince Savinho (coming off a La Liga TOTY at 19) to sign a long term contract at 40k per week, but Ortega and his reps were able to convince our board 90k per week was fair for his services during the same summer window.

That decision certainly looks like it is coming back to bite us in the ass now.
If I were him I wouldn't move anywhere else for a penny less this summer. It may be the most weekly wages he makes for the rest of his life.

Also, it isn't like he is going to start for Germany at the World Cup this summer regardless of where he would have went.

I am choosing to look at this most recent two year contract at too high of wages as a bonus payment to him for that save vs Son to help us win (4) in a row!
The man will always hold a place in my heart for that, regardless of how poor these last two seasons look like they will go for him in Sky Blue.

Ortega was free so could command a higher salary, with no transfer fee involved

That of course is fair, I would just be curious to know how many other clubs were queuing up to pay him 90k per week last summer for (24) months.

It seems like we misplayed this one pretty poorly in my opinion.
Regardless, he played a vital role in our record breaking fourth title in a row.
I'm not going to get that mad at the guy if he wants to sit around and earn what we agreed to pay him.

Nowhere near a Wayne Bridge situation, or sadly the current situation we find ourselves in with Philips.

Yes a bit too far to the east I reckon. Trabzon is close to Georgia and Azerbajahn.

He signed a two year contract last summer that put him on 90k per week.
His previous contract three year contract with us was at 55k per week.

That significant weekly pay bump last summer is likely why we can't move him now.
I am just curious if anyone else offered him 90k per week last summer, and who that would have been.
