OK, he possibly could have given away a pen against Welbeck, but overall I thought he was Montenegro's best player. Everywhere. Good in defence and attack.

Shows you how important confidence is to a footballer

Well done to those who set out to assassinate this footballer before he even had a chance. He;s probably stronger as a result of the experience.

Good Luck to the lad. He deserves to do well

Savic certainly played very well tonite , and hardly put a foot wrong throughout the entire game ..... and yes , overall he probably was their best player.

Other Montenegro players impressed in the second half , especially those up front .... but Savic put in a great shift for 90 minutes , so fair play to him.

Completely agree, he looked like a totally different player.
Is that down to playing in a different position? or maybe he just lost his confidence with there being too much pressure playing at centre-back for City?
Good luck to him anyhow.

shows how poor england were more like. Or, how poor the city coaching staff were......................either way - savic is a pretty ordinary footballer.

Never heard him get booed once at City.

He played well in the 2-2 when he set up the equaliser in 2011 - this is nothing new.

Great player Savic, was our star man in the win against Bayern (co-incidentally in the same position as tonight). Could never understand why he got so much stick. Always thought i was alone in thinking this but this thread proves otherwise.

Yes he was brilliant tonight. Glad he is playing somewhere where he will be given time to flourish as a young player and I hope he has a decent career.

However he would never have made it at city. At times he was like a deer in the headlights and had no confidence. I don't wish anything bad on him as he gave his best and I honestly hope he goes on to good things. Certainly played very well tonight.

Yes , England struggled , especially in the second half ... but that is a difficult venue to play at , the atmosphere is hostile , the pitch tonite was poor , and Montenegro showed after half time that they have some good players ...... better sides than England will struggle to win there.
