Hello Everybody,

I hope its ok to post this here so here goes.

This year we have set a challenge to Stephen Ireland to score 12 or more league goals for Charity for season 09/10. Stephen has accepted this challeneg through his website Stephen Ireland Foundation. I myself has pledged £100 if he gets to 12 goals, and £1 per goal if he doesn't. I have set this up on another City forum of which I will use as the main base but will be contactable through here if the Admin don't mind.

How it will work is that come the end of the season, everybody who has made a pledge will be given the deatails to send their donation direct to the Foundation themselves thus eliminating any doubts about fraud. All I ask is those that are interested to make a pledge of whatever they can afford. I think the ideal way of doing it is guaranteeing a lump sum if he hits his target, or a price per goal otherwise. So far in 24 hours we have pledges of over £400, I am also in the process of finding out if any of the players or staff will match our final combined contribution, hopefull somebody will take us up on our offer but as they are away I will not find out for a week or so.

Please make any pledges public in this thread by stating your pledge and username for the forum, then PM me your name and e-mail, neither of which will be used for anything other than this charitable cause.

Thank you in advance for your generosity

Regards

Mike

Thats a cracking idea. Unfortunately i don't have much money so wouldn't be able to do it, as i can guarantee the bastard would go on to get golden boot if i did.

But i might make a one off payment to his charity, only a small sum but better than none.

Thanks Josh, you can also support this challenege in other ways by spreading the word and trying to get others on board. Any one off donation will be great, I will send you the details at the end of the season of how to pay, if you can afford something then great, if not then I will be just glad for your support on backing the event.

Regards

Mike

That is a very generous donation, thank you. It really is amazing how City fans lend their support to each other like this and there is no doubt Stephens Foundation back an amazing cause in the Francis House Childrens Hospice.

No offence but I dont trust internet forum charity appeals......

However I will donate directly to the Hospice

However if Stevie scores more than twelve in the season I will eat my shoe....

We have 27 strikers.....

I understand your concerns which is why I have arranged for any payments to be paid by the pledgees direct to the foundation itself thus elliminating any means of fraud.

The foundation are fully on board and we hope to have a segment on their website soon which will help authenticate this challenge.
