His partner Jessica put it on her twitter account I believe. Her foot is in the original photo!

I am not bothered these days about Stevie Ireland one way or another apart from saying:

Who took the photo? It is obviously in his home so how come it got online? If it was taken by a 'friend' he has a very poor taste in friends or his friends are taking him for a ride!! If it was taken for a magazine/newspaper interview he has sunk even lower than I ever imagined he could.

If it was not taken for publicity purposes then I feel very, very sorry for him. He needs to wake up to the fact that he or someone else is making even more of a laughing stock of him than has been done already.

He used to be known as our Superman and, at that time, I admired him but boy how have the 'mighty' fallen!!!

Thanks Solid Silva, I guess that proves my point about taste!!!

Just spotted that's taken by Cavendish Press, the same fuckers who set up the Tevez effigies and Rooney shite. Scumbags.

Maybe slightly off topic...

As much as people probably dislike him now, Robinho did a lot of good things for us. Off the pitch, he raised our profile. As stupid and painfully cringeworthy, "We've got Robinho" was as a terrace song, it was a simple message of "You lot think our clubs shit, but a world class star came to play with Tal Ben Haim and Javier Garrido". On the pitch, he was the focal point for the oppositions marking. They concentrated on him so much that Ireland would always find space; although thats not to say that he made some good runs. The goal away to Hamburg sums his season up. 3 players staring at Robinho so Ireland can slot away a goal.

The only other times where I can remember him shining in the past was the 2-1 victory at OT, but I think you can blame a lot of that on Fergusons team selection.

I don't think you can really compare him to Milner. I didn't really rate Milner last season, but similar to Barry, I think it's taken him awhile to find his feet in the team, and with the exception of WBA the other day (too many sloppy passes) I don't think he's really put a foot wrong this season.

Totally agree in your Robbie assessment half the battle was persuading players we are the real deal

Thinking about it in hindsight Leslie had a difficult job of persuading very good players to join while the outside footballing world took the piss out of our wealth. Les made a few good ones, some very average and a couple of extremely abysmal choices. But the spending was accelerated hugely, more so than any other in football history.

Back to Mancini and the dead wood. What Mancini and the club are trying to do is get rid of the like of Ade bellars. Ireland was one he managed to do and in return Milner looks a bargain at £16 mill

For me Ireland's decline started when Hughes tried to use him in a defencive midfield position after he made his new signings for 09/10. He lost his form and never got it back. Like with Elano it was poor management from Hughes, ostracising his best and most creative player in consecutive seasons.

It's a shame Ireland's star faded so quickly, I genuinely loved him as a player in 08/09, and unlike the haters on here I wanted to see him succeed at Villa. He came out with a lot of crap about Mancini, yes but it seems to be out of hurt for being forced out of a club he loved and felt at home at. Why do we think he is a wanker for pining for where he was happiest?

It shows Ireland wearing silver snakeskin trousers
Someone at the BBC is hitting the NYE booze a bit too soon.

Funny comment from BBC
Villa goal: Charles N'Zogbia surges into the left-hand side of the area and squares the ball for Stephen Ireland. His first shot is blocked by the arm of John Terry, but his follow-up finds the net. Villa are level - put that in your pipe and smoke it

Great post ^......... Well done to Stevie today in happy for him I hope his performance today earns him a few more starts
