Sterling’s contract - three year extension confirmed

A lot of players we have bought over the years once they get here buy into the club and love it here. Vinny, Zab, David, Sergio, Bernie the list goes on. Just get the impression that Raheem has never been one for buying into any club long term. Great player and never gives less than 100 percent, but I never feel like he feels for the club and supporters like some of our other players. Will be a big miss cause he is a great player but we will replace him, and just purely from a connection point of view it won’t be as devastating as when we eventually lose some of our other beloved players. For those players and you know who I mean we may need some counselling :)

Good Player, made better by Pep and made even better by playing in a Pep team.

If he went for big money to Madrid I think he might earn more but he wouldn't be hitting the heights he is now as the way Madrid play wouldn't get the best out of him.

I also think that both at City and Liverpool (when he was there) the most fans have accepted that he will miss chances, miss passes and run down blind alleys, but even here there are some haters. In Madrid he misses a chance and his own fans will turn on him, especially as Spain still has more of a racism problem then England.

Sterling is a key player and we would miss him in the short term but City need to maintain their tough stance with greedy agents. City have managed agents well since they chucked Kia Joorabchian (the snake) out of the club after the Tevez saga and then shunned Seluk (Ya Ya's toxic other half). Aidy Ward is not bigger than our club.

You do know that Kia joorabchian is the agent of Mahrez? Maybe not chucked out lol.

They won't have to pay a large transfer fee if he runs down his contract. And he'll easily get 300k a week if he waits until January 2020 to negotiate with a foreign team.

Haha, do you think we’re Arsenal??

Only clubs that are badly managed let players run their contracts down. He’s gone in the summer at the latest if he doesn’t sign. The club have been trying to renew his deal since before the season began. If he doesn’t sign by January, it’s already clear where his intentions lie so he could be put on the market then.

Absolutely zero chance of him staying past summer 2019 without signing a new deal. City is probably the best managed club in the world or amongst the best.

Only if someone is willing to pay a fee for him, there would be a few clubs that might be willing to wait and get him for nothing, and there would be nothing we could do about it.
Still think he'll sign though, there isnt any reason to sign now really, he's continuing to improve and the longer he waits if he keeps improving the more likely we are to get closer to what he wants than if he signed now. Hes probably already worth more to us than he was in the summer.

We are talking about Sterling not Mangala, of course multiple clubs will be willing to pay a fee for one of the most talented young wingers in the world.

I’m almost sure he’ll sign and will agree to being paid a little less than our top earners. Would be crazy to leave City and Pep now. He could stay another 3-4 years and still be able to move to Spain when he’ll be an even better player and just entering his prime years.
