Sterling is about to blow!

All a ruse to get Mickeys to phone in ahead of Sunday's clash, so they will either be crowing or cowering on Monday.

Has Gough given wonderful insight and superior knowledge?

Gough is sticking up for Toure and Durham slagging him off. Standard fayre.

I know this was a side event in the midst of the 3 big dogs scoring and the Ferns both having blinders.

But yesterday was actually when it finally clicked for Rahim Sterling. He will go on to have a stormer the rest of the season. That's a promise.

How much of that was down to NOT having Kolarov invading his space?

Need Sterling to score on Sunday and us to win, living in Liverpool with a scouse bird I wont be able to go home if we dont.
He will get some treatment off them lot and it would give me the greatest feeling for him to ram it up em.
Even without Sundays game he is the most hated man in merseydive

Don't know. But this one felt different from all the other times he played well. This time he took the ball, did what he wanted, then passed it on. In the past, he'd be in 2 minds half the time looking to pass to Silva or Aguero and trying hard not to mess up.

This game Sterling just went out and did his thing. Forget what big brother Aguero, Silva or Yaya wanted. Just do you Raheem.

He made some mistakes, but didn't care.

Looked Danilo in the eye and concluded 'Yeah! I am gonna abuse you today, and there is really nothing you can do about it.'

It was that kind of a day for him. Expect him to push on now.

I posted this in another thread: Kolorov not overlapping him continually allowed him to start getting to the line. Had a great game. He's going to be something special. It's not what we pay him to do, but I love the way he recovers possession by nicking it off people's toes.

a lot of people are way to critical on him, he is young a basically still a raw talent, his age is not an issue. What he has lacked and does lack is a manager who can make him better and utilise his attacking skills.

For example look at Robben's goal last night against Juve, I can honestly say that I can see sterling scoring goals in the future like that for us once Pep takes control.

He damaged that right back all night, this is the kind of performance that needs to be replicated, 3 or four of those in a row and he'll be a confident young man, hope he sustains it against Liverpool.

Is it Clyne at RB for them? If sterling is at it he will destroy him

He's got a lot of potential just wish he would stop running into trouble he has the beating every time of the full back when he goes on the outside!

He's been involved in 5 goals in his last 4 CL games. 3 goals, 2 assists.

Should be 3 assists but Yaya somehow missed that header last night.
it's because we were set up to counter last night, setting traps over the pitch which means he had more space than in the league. he didn't have the option to come inside. would love to see him keep going to the byline like he did last night

Nothing finally clicked last night. He's had games like that already this season, mainly in the champions league. His style, combined with his age means he's bound to be inconsistent. Last night he displayed his talents and showed why we paid the money we did. We'll likely see more performances like that before the end of the season but we'll also see performances where he's having no impact at all. Next season Pep will use him better and make him more consistent
