Stevan Jovetic (continued)

People saying he doesn't quite fit our system, or he that he wouldn't work with aguero, are completely off it IMO.

It's a shame he's been out with injury for so long, but now that he's back, he still has everything to prove to pellegrini. It's not like with aguero who can come back from injury and automatically re-enter our starting 11. Aguero has earned that privilege. Jovetic definitely looks a real player from the minutes he received, but he still hasn't done enough to make a starting spot his own, yet.

Personally, I don't think there's any question that the aguero-jovetic link up will prove our best partnership. Jovetic has all the attributes to play alongside aguero in a 4222. No weaknesses in the link up, nobody killing the speed of play, or lacking the eye for a pass. Jovetic, IMO, is almost the perfect striker for this system. I think silva and nasri will also benefit greatly from his addition. For the way we play, he's got it all - size, speed, athleticism, link-up, confidence...

Don't think he's anywhere near reached a complete understanding with the other players, though. Just wait till next season. If him and aguero can stay injury free, it'll be special.

^This team will be an absolute joy to watch.

Agreed, and I think we might not need a back four or keeper with those six in midfield and upfront.....

I agree entirely but why has this selection so far been given zero minutes? I just don't get it.

Not 100% sure but don't think they've all been fully fit at one time have they?

He is one of few players who is on the same level talent wise as Aguero, Silva, Yaya. He is a true star player, not a fill in.
Injuries have ruined him, but I expect him to become one of the best players in the league if/when he gets fully fit & setlles down.

If that doesn't happen here & he doesn't fit in, he will just move on & become one of the best players in whichever league he moves to.

Jovetic is a genuine top player & he has the confidence to go with it. If we don't get the best out of him, someone else will.

Same level as Sergio, Silva and Yaya? Based on what exactly? Medals? Performances for one of the elite clubs in Europe? Winning matches for City single-handedly when the others can't do it? Or on what's inside your crack-pipe? I suggest the latter. And so would the evidence from his footballing career. You're putting him in the echelon of the world's very elite. He ain't no Merlin.

He's a brilliant player but I don't think he's the right man for Pelles system, he likes to play a battering ram of a striker and Aguero, Jovetic is a number 10 that can play number 9. Fuck knows where people get this idea Jovetic could play Nasri's role, at Fiorentina he either played off Luca Toni or the bloke that went to Roma played off him, just because he can contril a ball doesn't mean he's a Nasri replacement.

Apart from Yaya they should have started the last game. But maybe you are right.

Based on talent. But it's actually in his post. And it's nothing exaggerating if you watched him closely in the past years.

Why did we buy him?
