Stewards took my plastic flag pole

Bought one of those flags on the concourse of the south stand at the Newcastle game. Brought it to the bayern game midweek and today. Got stopped in the queue on the way in. After bringing the supervisor over I was told that I could "poke someone's eye out" and that the pole was "too long".

So basically anyone planning on bringing a flag to the game please be warned that it may be confiscated. Nice one stewards.

What I dont want are designated flag wavers like at chelsea, you can see the huge flags being waved, but as soon as the game starts they stop..
Flags should be waved by fans, not hired help ffs.

this is kind of why when 1894 were getting off the ground we were low key. not announcing things until they were done because even with lots of planning , it only takes a communication breakdown between 2 people in the link to cause a big problem.

we were told Friday pm this wouldn't happen and we will flag it up again (no pun intended)

which entrance / block was it. so the steward can be traced. please reply on here. cheers
Entrance P south stand lower. young north eastern girl initially asked me to step aside before a larger black gentleman got involved and then the mixed race supervisor bloke basically said no.

Racist bastards

ALL things colour and atmosphere related should be left to the fans only. The club should have nothing to do with any of it. No cheesy club-made flags, no daft samba band, no bloke with a head set on with his finger to his ear choreographing flag wavers, no Poznań t-shirts, no singers on the pitch singing Blue Moon...nowt!

Well this was the idea behind the flags that were made by the fans but obviously plastic poles can be very dangerous and I am sure it was destroyed in the appropriate manner.

What about music when goals are scored, thats class. Reckon we could have gun shots when the beast scores.....

It seems few people had the same issue yesterday, but my mate got in with two flags without any problem ..

1894 group is actively speaking with the club and hopefully can fix this .. club can't say that stick flags are allowed in and then don't brief all stewards ..

Ahh the stewards at entrance P in the South stand! I had my first encounter with one on Wednesday before the Bayern game.Young kid about 22 asked to search my bag,no problem.I had just finished a week of nights at work and travelled 300 miles to get to the game, hence the bag.

He finds my bottle of Lucozade and tells me i can't take it into the ground. When i tell him i have taken a plastic bottle of drink into the ground without a problem on countless other occasions he witters on about people throwing them and he thinks it is just for this one game.Luckily i had a plastic glass with me so i poured it into that, told him in no uncertain terms that he was a jobsworth and he needs to learn the rules because it has never been a problem before and go into the ground.

I ask another steward who said they had received no instruction about bottles and i then see countless people drinking from bottles all around the stand.I try and find a supervisor[difficult] but eventually i do.He looks furtive when challenged and realising if he said fetching a bottle in would give me some grounds replied that no bottles weren't allowed in.My reply to him was that then they needed to make all stewards aware as some were telling me it was ok and make one rule and stick to it,saving me the expense of buying a drink i can't take in for future referance.

It really is a joke that i am going to risk throwing a plastic bottle and getting banned, when it would be lucky to reach the front row from where my seat is and i am too far from the away fans to reach them.Fucking ill informed jobsworths,we have too many of them in hi vis jackets!

At the Bayern game a Steward at block K told me I couldn't take a small bottle of water in the ground. So i took the top off and gave it to him but "oh no you don't" he said, you can't take that in because you might drop it and then someone might slip on it. WTF !

Have UKIP been contacted ? They don't want to let any poles in.

I haven't got a coat, I'll just go.
