Stewart Lee on UKIP

Lee knows the stand-up craft and sends up comedians more than anyone else. He's a serious influence in comedy and rightly so.

He completely buried Top Gear a couple of years ago. His skit about wanting Richard Hammond to be beheaded slammed the avarice of the BBC, publishers, booksellers, celebrities, and the stupidity of consumers superbly.

He was funny on time trumpet. Think he needs to be part of an ensemble to be fully appreciated.

I think he's a genius!

Him, Mark Thomas and Jeremy Hardy (who's a personal friend and a bit depressing in real life) are the only 'comedians' I have any time for. I find stand-up as an art form strangely annoying, Lee at least sends up the basic stupidity of it (whilst being very successful at it).
