How did they bite the hand the used to feed them exactly?

Plenty of blues, myself included, would occasionally pop down their on a Friday night back in the day. It was a clever idea by whoever came up with it to attract a few extra fans who would never have gone on a Saturday.

Are you saying they should have let us beat them as a way of thanks when we ended up in the same league as them?
Meant that we used to play them in a lot of friendlies at the start of the season, guarenteeing them a full house and bit of extra revenue, sure there was a few dodgy deals done with a couple of transfers to,bill Williams for one

I get that bit but what did they do in return to make everyone so pleased about their demise apart from beat us once?
It's not about them beating us. Everyone celebrates the victories of their own team, that's fair enough. It was the glee they took in our drop to League One that sticks in the craw of many City fans. Considering the fairly close relationship between the fans of both clubs, and the financial assistance the city fans (via attending games) and the club (via friendly matches) gave to Stockport when they were a pennyless struggling side you'd have hoped for a more measured and sympathetic reaction. Joyous celebration and constant piss taking was what we got. So, now, as they look to be on the brink of league games with Histon, Worcester and Solihull Moors, it's come back to bite them and City fans are enjoying a touch of both karma and Schadenfreude.

and the attacks on blues by County divs. (The Ash in Reddish for a start)
The raggy "shitty city" comments.

Most county seem to be Utd as a second team especially when we were shit.

They suddenly forgot that we had a soft spot for them.

They won't forget again.

The blues who still go to county must have missed that era out.

By the way...most county hate city

Had to go into Edgeley a few hours before I left for the Wigan game earlier and I couldn't help but chuckle when I looked over at Edgeley Park. To think that monstrosity could be demolished soon if the club goes tits up.

Fucking beautiful.

I'm not really bothered about them but I was schooled in the ways of football back in the Go Go Go County days.

I think there was an engine shed nearby so sometimes the view of the game was obscured by the smoke and steam from the engine shed. No bad thing, really, when Jim Fryat missed another sitter.

It's a long time ago now, but I no longer have any connection with them, and I've been at the receiving end of some sad comments from the bitter people who support them.

I don't look for their results, which in some respects is a shame, but it's the way it is.

I have many happy memories of being taken to their games, but it's gone wrong for them somewhere along the line.

They look fucked. They have to win at high flying Kidderminster, who are still chasing the title, in the last game on Saturday to have any chance of overtaking either Tamworth or Gateshead and avoid relegation. In the meanwhile Gateshead are at home to already relegated Ebbsfleet and Tamworth are at home to mid table Woking who have nothing to play for.

15 years ago Stockport were in a higher division than City. Next season Hyde will be in a higher division than Stockport.
