Im sorry but you are fucking wrong wrong wrong.
Buxton has a Stockport post code, do you think they fell Stockfordian? Dont talk shit.
Cheadle has fuck all to do with Stockport, never has and never fucking will. Its a seperate town bunched together for council purposes.
Im a Manc born and bred and feel no more affection to Stockport than i do Southport as they are both fuck all to do with where i live, the people i grew up with or the City of my birth.

Cheadle is now a township within Stockport MBC, in much earlier times it was a parish in the Hundred of Macclesfield and later became an urban district within the Municipal Borough of Stockport in 1835. As such it has always much to do with the Stockport having been connected to it since antiquity. The combined population of the manors of Cheadle Bulkeley & Cheadle Moseley in 1801 was 2478 compared to the Barony of Stockport's 14,830. The various parts of what is now Manchester & Salford at the time was about 328,000.Rascal said:...Cheadle has fuck all to do with Stockport, never has and never fucking will. With respect, that's just wrong. Before 1974 Cheadle & Gatley UDC was still a part of Stockport County Borough and before that part of the Municipal Borough. It matters to some sad people like me!BrianW said:Cheadle used to be part of Cheadle and Gatley UDC until April 1974. The boundary with Stockport used to be Cheadle Heath, roughly where the railway bridge goes over the road. Since 1974, it's part of Stockport MBC. A bit like Radcliffe is now part of Bury and Middleton is now part of Rochdale. Didn't use to be.
Not that it matters!
