Threads like this make me homesick, I miss the friendly banter of the young
It's not hard to see how one punch can kill someone, he's not far off hitting that post or nutting the pavement, it was a brutal punch, I'm guessing that lad does MMA.
I thought he had a kind of posture which looked like he trained for some kind of physical activity. It happened in Stalybridge when I was on a night out there a few years ago, a small confrontation, one punch and the recipient hit his head on the kerb and unfortunately died. They ran a campaign after that with posters in pubs showing an image of a one punch victim and the strap lineThe lad has done a bit of Muay Thai by the looks of it as he's using thigh kicks to slow him down. The bare chested lad didn't have a clue and looked off his face, all posturing and aggression with little threat. Peach of a punch and I think he was actually looking at the little bloke coming in to confront him when he threw it. That's how people die from a punch like that from a stupid nothing idiotic confrontation. I guess in today's society it's lucky there weren't knives used. Mr bare chest is lucky actually, a few seconds before he got punched he slipped and a more ruthless street fighter would have booted his head into next week at that point.

"it only takes one punch"
It was shocking to see, perhaps it should be repeated when pubs open as a lot of people are going to be very pissed, very aggressive and very stupid after months of lockdown.
The thing today chappo is they will stab you, attack your house, parents, etc should they lose faceHe was on his toes well and using thigh kicks which if done right can stop somebody in their tracks dead. Mind you anybody would look an expert facing Mr bare chest who was all noise, aggression and not much else. People can mock his technique but it's not a gym or ring environment but a real violent confrontation on the cobbles with a lot of space and all the dangers that confrontation brings.
The problem is with drink, drugs and an aggressive atmosphere all common sense goes out of the window. Interview these people the next day and many are totally different people, but sadly by then the damage has been done.
As I got older and wiser I found that humour and self depreciation could work well if i had a chance to speak. A bit of, " Fight you mate, do I look mad?? Look at you, you're a monster do I look suicidal?" That with a smile could work. Also if it was looking like a walk outside was inevitable, "Look mate we can go outside, kick fuck out of one another, shake hands, come back in and have a drink......or we can miss out the painful bit, shake hands and have the drink now." It's all about ego and saving face with a lot of people so negate that and you prick their aggression bubble. It can be hard to do as you have to appear to be backing down a little bit it's better than being badly injured, dead or in prison yourself for manslaughter.

It’s all recorded and put on Facebook just not worth it. It’s difficult at times to walk away but the older you get the wiser you become if you can walk away or diffuse the situation you should
