Stoke post match

Ridiculous decision, don't care what directive or whatever they've been told to do. They probably should have had one first half but this just smacked of evening things up after getting a bollocking from Hughes.

I think Shawcross fouled Sterling as much as Sterling fouled Shawcross. It's a complete departure from previous seasons if those contacts result in penalties. I'll wait till MANUre concede a penalty from a wee bit of jostling.

So we win 1-4 away at Stoke after playing away and winning 0-5 in the Champions League? I'll take that. Willy didn't have much to save either. Great win and we can only get better.

I don't mind the penalty decision(s). Obviously the one for Stoke was much more contentious but by the sounds of the muppet on Sky's explanation then I can see why it's given. Think the 3rd and 4th goals were direct results of something that happened last week when Nacho took on a difficult shot instead of passing off to a better placed player. Think Pep has definitely had a word on this.

Not a very good performance (esp. in the 2nd half) in terms of attacking shape and play but we worked hard and defended well given the conditions and Stoke's lumpball.

4 goals, 2 good subs by the manager and no more Stoke away for at least a year. Can't complain

The FA are warming the balls for an away cup tie in January.

Not many teams win at Stoke.

First half we bossed the game played some lovely football, pressed well and showed a lot of energy. It was frightening at times just how well we were pressing Stoke and keeping them penned in their own area.

Love the change of tactics from the first 2 games. Hughes must have spent the week watching those and expecting the same and he gets a shock when we play more conventionally.

Second half I think we ran out of steam a bit which contributed to some sloppy passing and allowed Stoke back into the game. We came again later on and the substitutes were spot on.

Not sure what game Quinn was watching but he needs to take off the biased specs.

If we can do this after only 3 competitive matches under Pep and without a full squad I think the rest of the PL will be very worried.

Thats the most biased nonsense Ive seen for a while. It does not make you less of a fan to be objective

Just caught up as I had to work but what a cracking result and better still, so much more to look forward to.

Not sure what to make of the penalty thing, judging by those two pens, seems like this season refs will have way more influence on games than they should have. At least you could somewhat justify ours, Stokes pen smacked of Dean trying to 'even things up'.
