Foden declined to be involved in June. It says something and not sure why people so suprised he hasn’t been called up.

I think it's pretty obvious Phil doesn't get on with a load of the England players. Seems to come back semi depressed. I remember the video when he came to St George's Park with his PFA award and a few of them had faces like thunder when he walked in. It seems very cliquey there. I reckon Tuchel is trying to break them up before the WC.

An alternative way of looking at it is Tuchel is intelligent enough to realise Foden is finally getting back to his best and a 2 week bootcamp with Pep getting the chemistry going with Cherki is going to be better for England in the long run than him playing these pointless fixtures. But yeah it's definitely unusual. No Bellingham either.

.....or he can continue to build his fitness in a competitive environment.

He didn't ask not to be included & will probably be ambitious for one more world cup next summer.

Aside from the obvious fitness concerns, Stones is nowhere near his previous form and looked slow and vulnerable in Monaco

I appreciate that he might need more minutes to improve his overall performance but it also says something about Tuchel's lack of serious options

That's strange, John Stones played for about 70 minutes a few nights ago and was very fit (stop laughing you lot) and able to run the socks off a few of our players as well as a lot of the Monaco players. So who says he is barely fit??? :-)
