Thoughts?

So, Tuchel was at the CFA today. I hope some discussion with him was around managing Stones. I hope it was at least said that he can't play in both games during the international break. Stones also needs to be wary and ask to come off when an England game is won.
He's England's best centre half, he should be nailed on for the World Cup next summer.

He's so important to the way we play, in my opinion he shouldn't be asked to play with his injuries issues and the fact that he's a nailed on starter.

If he’s fit, he’ll be picked. He’s England’s best centre back.

There’s no chance he retires as there’s the World Cup next summer.

He should retire from international football.

He can’t play a full season including internationals. Pep will try and rotate him and bring him off early to not run the risk of injury, but then he’ll go off and play 8 full 90s for England through the season which then has an impact on his injury threat when he comes back to City.

He’s just not got the body to play club and international football anymore.

I said the same about De Bruyne and Kompany years ago.

He makes a massive difference. He can move the ball up the pitch, and cover for our weak right back group. If only he was less injury prone.

Not retire but should be given an exemption that his World Cup place is nailed.

It's going to be him and Guehi, might as well give another centre half some experience for England.

Tuchel will want as much game time as possible.

The best we can hope for is an ongoing dialogue managing his minutes and showing the FA when he’s in the red zone.

Why would he do that? It’s his dream to play for England. All of our players would probably pick there international side as well.

We can’t force someone into early international retirement and if we want to be the best, all of our players will be playing at world cups or tournaments.

Realistically England have significant qualifiers and they need to get players used to each other.
I hope they help manage his minutes as that's in everyone's interest but he will play.

Exactly

He has managed it many seasons before.

It gets blown out of proportion the whole “he gets injured with England”. Its happened once last March and Pep was very outspoken about it so everyone just goes on about it.

The reality is he get injured far more with us.

That being said I also hope its managed and there is good communication between the two camps, judging by the visit today there should be.

There is no way he is going to retire until he wins something with England.

He’s not a city fan. His commercial value is international. Same as Vinny and Kev.

Who are we to say when a player plays for his country or not? Any player not just John Stones.
I know if I were talented enough to play for my country I would be proud and honoured to be chosen.
Sorry, like all of you, I do not want him to be injured and to play every game for us but I can’t ask this as he is the best player for the job.
That’s not just wearing my Stones tinted glasses, that’s me trying to be fair to the lad.
