Right, so are we doing one for when Liverpool next visit?

Buzzcocks, “Oh shit”.You're getting mixed up with the club and the fans. The club are constantly associating themselves with Oasis but 1894 aren't. I could be wrong but this might be the first time we've referenced an Oasis song title on one of our banners, and in the past we've used the likes of The Smiths, Joy Division, and New Order for our displays. For The Story Of The Blues display we even went down the East Lancs and used Pete Wylie/The Mighty Wah! as inspiration for that one.
In any case, what other artist's song title would've been more appropriate for Tuesday night's banner?
What I think is irrelevant,my point is why would u not want the club to be close to probably the highest grossing rock band in the world at this present moment ?

That banner would be blue in more ways than one!Imagine if we could write what we want?
:-O
There is no helping some people !because it's football and not the brit awards
Looks like Wright has stuck his big head into the debate.
The very Ian Wright who never won the CL or the Ballon D’or
Thick twats. Nothing to do with the club, apart from allowing us to display it in the first place!Talksport have just said the banner was organised by the club, and also said there was similar messages displayed in the tunnel to wind them up

That was just local rivalry nothing maliciousI don't dislike Wright generally, but why don't these footballers-would-be-pundits do even basic research — it only takes a couple of clicks to know how long the rags had that banner up — before mouthing off and making themselves look like utter pillocks. Or is it because Wright's media mates are now Neville and Keane?

Anything UB40 related would work, ironicallyRight, so are we doing one for when Liverpool next visit?
Well, as one of the people who had a small hand in making the banner happen, I'm pretty happy with how it went.
Rodri loved it (and took a picture of it at the game). Liam Gallagher tweeted us (1894) because he liked it. I'd say on social media platforms like X/Instagram, the response was very positive. The response on here is more 50/50 (I think that potentially reflects the age demographics on here—I think it's fair to say some of the older blues don't appreciate the 'banter' displays as much as the younger fans). We completely accept that not everyone is going to love every display. We get some wrong and some right.
We've always been a fanbase that will call out bullshit. The way Madrid behaved when Rodri won the Ballon D'or was embarrassing and deserves to be mocked.
As a side benefit, the media response has been huge. Whether it's positive or negative, we have news outlets all over the world reporting on it. This builds influence (for example, journalists reaching out to us for stories, we then have a relationship and can work with them in the future).
As always, we are more than happy to receive feedback. We're trying to do our best and we'll keep going. If you'd like to become an 1894 member, join us
You'll receive our mailers to see what we're up to. You can vote on and fill in surveys that help us decide what routes to take from displays to fan activism campaigns.
All the best blues!
