Stop fracking

..or unless you have to pay for them.
You're paying anyway. We all are. Hydroelectric is also beautiful, also just as inefficient. The more it's invested in the more it'll become more viable going forward. You think coal fired power just came into being overnight?

I don't mind the idea of fracking and to be honest and I made a good wedge selling my shares in AJ Lucas the week after the election as they doubled in price a soon as the Tory party won.
Unless people are advocating zero energy usage most ways of getting energy have issues.

I've not got the patience to read all 15 pages, and maybe it's just me, I think wind turbines are beautiful! Mankind harnessing what is available with technology. Lovely stuff.

They are less than useless because you cannot count on their output and are very inefficient. If you want the light to come on when you hit the switch you need a constantly available source of power so regardless of how many millions of turbines you install you need to be able to replace their output whenever the wind stops blowing or accept a blackout.

That's stupid. Why pollute the environment if there is another option? It's never going to improve unless it's backed. We are lucky enough to have stable power. If it comes from wind that's win/win.

Except that wind power is hugely expensive and wouldn't be viable without massive subsidies.

Technology is such that we cant rely on renewables totally mate. We need a balance to have an effective energy supply at the moment, which is a sad fact due to the waste product of nuclear energy. I am not a fan of inland wind turbines, their effect on birds can be devastating due to the pressure differentials they create, offshore is a better option. More needs to be made of solar and tidal power, as solar is still has some output even when its cloudy and the tide always comes in, the wind doesnt always blow though. More money needs to go into research and development to make renewables more effective and efficient, but that has been said for over 30 years now and nothing really changes.
