Storm Dudley/Eunice/Franklin

Not trying to down play it as such mate, just with regards to the severity and predictions where I am (10 minutes from the Trafford centre actually) here’s a couple of pictures now and it’s been like this all morning despite reports to the contrary.
From what I can see of the forecast, it's not due to arrive here until a bit later though so we'll see what happens during the day. As it happens, I think we're on a yellow warning up here as opposed to a red one so it ought not be quite as bad as it is down south.

Tbf, I’ve noticed at times there seems to be a bit of a ‘micro climate’ where I am, rains when everywhere else is dry and yet misses quite a lot when it’s pissing down elsewhere, it was far worse when I lived in Wales between the Clwydian range and the channel for the river Clwyd, that was bizarre at times.

It’s a lovely calm sunny day on the East Lothian riviera

keeping an eye on snow in the borders today and overnight and whether that might be a problem for driving down for the game tomorrow

Is anyone else under impressed by this massive over hype about a windy day? I appreciate it could get worse but these journalists really are trying to magnify the situation.

I bet they go searching for the location that will give the most windy and best effect pictures they can. One sky journalist was leaning into the wind giving the impression it was hard to stand up... behind her a middle aged/elderly couple were sauntering along the promenade.

So fear and hype aside, it is no worse than many of the other storms we have encountered in recent years.... so far

I do hope karma doesn't come and pay me a visit. (and I am about 8 miles from Porthcawl)

Just put the word 'storm' into the BBC news website as a search term and look at the results from say Xmas to now for your answer. There are so many dire warnings I think it's getting to the stage where we need to have a dedicated weather forecast at the end of each news bulletin!

Haha! What kind of person fucking whinges and moans because the media are reporting potentially severe weather.
If its shite where you are be careful and stay safe. It's its OK where you are crack on with your day as normal.
Or as an alternative, don't sit watching the news and go about your life without having the sensational headlines upset you.
