Storm Eowyn

Kids all sat at the window hoping to see bus stops, cars and trees blowing along the street.

We’re right on the Forth here and it’s not too bad so far, fairly strong winds but nothing biblical. Yet.

Think your country men on the West side will be getting worse than you. Nice day for a game of golf at North Berwick.

The lazy twats who live next door to me have had a discarded headboard leaning up against their “garage room” for over a month now.

This morning it has relocated itself to the side of the flower bed between our two semi’s. That is probably where it will stay for a good few weeks.

Anybody else with neighbours like that?
Ive got very tight, very lazy, selfish scruffy Nesbitt's both sides of me. Gets me down a bit, they do fuck all to improve or even maintain anything

Friday is Paper waste bin day here in PLF. Most all have gone over, and it's a paper and card apocalypse around the streets on this morning's dog walk.

Apart from one twonk who got their glass and plastics bin out, which also went over, and one road now littered with broken glass ... ffs. :-)

Prop it up against their front door, and if they say anything, blame Eowyn

Yeah sure, none are really in grave danger, it will pass and we'll clean up like other times it happens, and it might not be as bad as it is made out.

But still, if it was a weekend, I wouldn't send my kids out in it. So them not being out in school, is welcome. I wouldn't go out for a leisure outing, so working from home and cancelling in-persom meetings is ok.

Overall, I don't think the red warning is nanny stating. People can still decide to go rambo if they want to, or they can just sit some bad weather out, like we have been doing for centuries.

It’s bad up here. Total length of the A75 has been closed due to multiple incidents and the vast majority of the side roads are blocked with trees down. I’ve just managed to get home, only because I knew a short back road route and a 20 minute journey took me 90 mins. Tree down in the village as well blocking the bridge over the river.

I'm in Cleveleys, thankfully not bins day on my street. 10 mins ago there were a few quite scary gusts but so far no damage as far as I can tell, supposed to gradually ease down from 70mph+ through the afternoon.

Blizzard conditions at the moment. And the strongest winds still a couple of hours away yet.

:-(

No work tomorrow. Been taken out of our annual leave.
Hope all is ok with you Jim. I think it’s unfair that you have to use your annual leave because it isn’t your fault you have to take today off. Maybe a bit of goodwill from your company?

I was thinking of popping down for a few scoops today in The Vault, Jolly Tar's etc but don't fancy the coast walk...

Bet the neighbours thought it was a Dalek.
