When i saw the title i straight away thought of the yellow and brown spider i saw the other day.. must be the same kind. Looked like something you would see in australia or something. Squashed the fucker immediately
Did it look like this:
Wasp_Spider.jpg

?

If so it's a wasp spider. Surprisingly they do live in Britain and do have a venomous bite but it isn't potent enough to do any damage to humans.

There was one in our kitchen when i was a kid, i absolutely shit myself when i saw it. I distinctly remember eating beans on toast and my Mam saying "eh, look at that behind you there.." so i turned round and beside my head was this motherfucker! I ran out of the house brushing my hands all over me like there was loads of them on me, haha!
HAHAHAHA wonderful story I can just see it before my eyes!!

Having come face to face with one of theses Wasp spiders in the last few days i dont blame him running a mile, vicious looking things.
Out of curiosity do you have big spiders in Sweden or is it too cold?

Nah not normal in our fauna... the biggest ones are "vargspindlar" translated to wolf spiders which are totally harmless... they are about a pound in size... we do have one that is venomous and its name is "korsspindel" or in english cross spider due to a small white cross on its back but even though its venomous its harmless to people unless you get a allergic reaction

that said I do not like spiders and the bigger they are the more I run :-)))

Love them as well. My mate had a tarantula for a while and would let it roam free. Asked where it was once and he had a quick look and said "On your shoulder." I'd sat on the sofa and it had crawled on me. Also had to fish it out from under the cooker once.
