Pellegrini evidently favour the 442 formation and I believe that we will see this formation for the bulk of this season. However the purchase of Fernando will mean that the manager will be more comfortable in opting for a 433, especially in crucial games or European games. Also the duo selected may depend on the type of match and the tactics of the manager as some strikers are more versatile and can play different positions e.g Jovetic who can drop deep as an attacking midfielder or drift wide and Aguero who can play out wide or as a free roaming attacker.

But in general terms,,which combination will you consider as the best this season, assuming everyone is fit
Aguero and Dzeko
Aguero and Jovetic
Aguero and Negredo
Dzeko and Jovetic
Dzeko and Negredo
Jovetic and Negredo.
Yaya and any

I am very enthused about Jovetic this season. He is attracting a lot of interest with his pre season performances and if he stays injury free, this might be that break out season for him where he finally announces himself in the world stage.

However Aguero, if fit should be in the starting line up because he is capable of creating and scoring from nothing and is one of the best players in the world.

Negredo was outstanding at the beginning of the season but injuries and other factors caused his form to drain out as the season came to an end. He is obviously suffering from confidence issues and apprehension, which injury susceptibility brings to the minds of sports people but hope he comes back stronger soon.

I have always said and still retain that Dzeko is the best goal getter in the squad. Our main number 9 and he is a player that has delivered consistently when it really matters. One of the best strikers in the world.

Yaya Toure can play as a supporting striker and his positional intelligence, finishing technique and intricacy, runs in behind and heading is as good as most strikers in the world. This is a wildcard option but a viable option nonetheless.

Based on all that , my best combination is Aguero and Dzeko

What is yours and why.

i am glad i dont have to pick a pair out of what we have we are blessed with great strikers, i will leave it to Pellers i am sure he knows whats best i will just sit back and enjoy the ride, again.

Aguero and and jovetic. Ever since jovetic scored against chelsea I have thought he is a world beater

My preferred duo would be Kun and the Beast. They were lethal up to the turn of the year. Then Alf got that serious shoulder injury at Upton park , which really seemed to hit him hard. He was a pale imitation of the early season Beast when he came back. Will he get that form back again for us, or was it a flash in the pan? And of course, we have to factor in the assumption that Kun will miss more games this season with his ongoing injuries. He really needed a complete break from football this summer, but the World Cup put paid to that, unfortunately. On the bright side though; at the sharp end of last season, Edin really did step up to the plate big time. And Jovetic has the look of a really classy player, if he can stay fit.

We will start with Dzeko and Jovetic. Then Aguero will partner whoever has the best start out of those two, once he's fully fit. Then, it will change throughout the season. The "best" option is never set in stone. Look at last year... we began with Aguero and Negredo as our best partnership, then finished with Dzeko on his own being the best choice. All 4 strikers will have their moment to shine.

They'll be plenty of rotation, you would have thought, and we're blessed to have four top drawer forwards.

But for me the Aguero-Jovetic partnership has the potential to be as good as anything ever seen in the Premier League.

I hope Dzeko gets a good run in the side again, he was great last season and scored some crucial goals for us, hard to pick a permanent front two but on top form I would have Sergio and Dzeko with the Beast (when fit) and Jovetic getting on plenty from the bench and playing most of the cup games. Injuries are the only fear I have, a fit City side with the squad we have is unbeatable in terms of the PL trophy at the moment.

I have addressed that there are factors that will influence who starts e.g, injuries, form and fitness, kind of games, capacity and versatility of the players etc but this is question is separate from that. Negredo is currently injured but he is still one of the options. The question is based on a general, hypothetical scenerio- If all 4 strikers are fit are on form, who will you start?, there is an important game coming up, we have to play 2 strikers. all of them are ready and eager and are on form , who will you start?

Ok, if all are in form I'd go for Aguero and the Beast. I would like to see Negredo reach those levels again, but it will be difficult for him as he'll very much be 4th choice once back from injury.

True. It will be difficult for Negredo. Competing for a berth as a striker in this team is like keeping level to a moving mill or train, once you lag behind for whatever reason. It is difficult to catch up but I hope he comes back and regains his full form.
