Royal Mail jacked up the price of a first class stamp from 95p to £1.15 in April 2023, then again to £1.25 in October 2023 and are jacking it up again to £1.35 on 2nd April 2024. They're blaming it on them losing money because the volume of letters has decreased. Companies in that position that don't have a virtual monoply like Royal Mail are forced to cut costs and increase efficiency not simply hike their prices way above inflation and guaranteeing an even lower volume of letters.

Yup. Royal Mail is a disgrace. Think of the opportunity they had to get a fair share of on line sales deliveries, beaten by white van man. Sell it lock stock and barrel to Amazon or Tesco who each manage to deliver to me exactly when I want them to.
Note Tesco deliver next day for £2 a full load of groceries.
