fro m an early age it was obvius sturridge would be like this .when jim cass poached him he left is own town club to join us why ,because is father and brother and mother and all the family told him to do so they all moved to manchester for sturridge. i feel sorry for this kid he is being driven by a family of ex pros wanabees and so on and his whole life and the familys as evolved around the kid if you met sturridge he is a very nice lad with no ego he just wants to play football but i think its time he stood up for himself and told all the clingers to f off and let me decide

That is actually quite a good post just poorly written.

I've not classed him as a Manchester City player for a while now, whether he is officially or not. If he is not commited to the club and does not want to don the blue shirt of this club then there is other players just waiting for their chance - see Robbie Mak for details. I think he has been disrespectful to the club given the standard of the offer to him and that reflecting his age, his level of experience and where he is in terms of first team football.

I don't understand him. If he thinks that he is going to get ahead of Carew and Agbonlahor then he is more egotistical than I thought. Chelsea is the same (Anelka, Drogba, Kalou) and he won't deem Blackburn a big enough club for him to play for. He is making a mistake by leaving this club - gaurunteed. He won't get anything like the offer that he would have got with us and he will not enhance his chances of regular first team football either.

When I have seen him play I do not see what all the hype is about either. He appears to be lazy and he doesn't get stuck in and for long periods is anonymous from the game. I don't rate him very highly and cannot see why others do.

a lot of people have become oblivious to the fact hes the best talent to come through our ranks. when he plays he has an input in nearly all the goals we score.
against blackburn and stoke i think it was he combined with robinho better and more inventive than elano has.

its a shame all the fans have pure hatered for the guy for not sayin he is devoted to the club WE love.

i have no doubt in my mind that he will become an england striker, and will come back to bite us on the arse.......i say good luck to the lad

I'm with you mate, only ever been impressed by Sturridge and I'll be sad to see him go. He'll come back to haunt us of that I'm sure.

Glad to see everyone else enjoying the witch hunt though, never mind, we've got Crouch or Santa Cruz to look forward to eh?

It's simply that Hughes doesn't rate him that much.

I really don't have a problem with that, it's the manager's prerogative as to who he gives contracts to and who he doesn't.

I just hate the bullshit that is spread to cover decisions made.

Maybe Hughes feels bad after giving Michael Johnson a ludicrously improved contract... and been rewarded with NO appearances since!

Sturridge is way dowen the pecking order and next season he'd hardly get on the bench.

He's no great loss at this particular moment in time, but surely we could do it with a bit more dignity?

I agree totally with these particular elements of your post.

Absolutely spot on.

Too many on here fall for the propaganda like a 1930's Deutschlander.

It CAN'T be about the money, as we can out-bid anyone else.

I think Hughes is sacrificing Sturridge to prove a point. And fair do's to him.

I find this scenario totally believable and agree that the spreading tales through the press is undignified.

I hope that if he does leave that Sturridge tells the truth about what went on.

But wouldn't that just be more spin from the Studge camp? Why would what he has to say be any more believable than what Hughes has said?

Us 'little people' will never know what really went down.

Probably true, but at least both sides of the story would be out there for us all to make our judgements on.

At the moment it's all one way, and rightly or wrongly the character of a 19 year old kid is being assassinated.

Sadly, I think people have mostly made up their minds.

I see what you mean, but I dont think its quite so dramatic. He will land squarely on his feet wherever he goes. I wish him the best.
