Sturridge to leave City? [Merged]

Fuck him, an ego far greater than his talent.

Couldn't agree more ........ hope he ends up playing for Wolves or Birmingham and gets relegated. I'd play football for £500 a week and I'm better than him.

It will be interesting to see what tales he tells when he leaves. He doesn't come across as being shy about giving his opinion.

Very clearly not a bright lad - he, his family and his agent have completed believed there own hype - it will all end in tears for the bling bling king.

And i read he got young player of the year for us, i hope it was a joke, whats all that about

Doesnt make much sense to me, but maybe he feels with the potential big buys we'll be making he wont get much of a look in next season. Or maybe its just plain greed. Sad if its the latter.

it is a difficult situation. see he hasnt shown anything that warrants £60k a week yet, so obviously doesnt deserve it because what would happen if he broke into the first team and lived up to expectations, how would he be rewarded if he was already earning £60k a week. Also if we gave in to his demands, then other younger players might feel the same and start demanding stupid wages. Basically he thinks he's hit the jackpot with these owners and he's the big "I AM" but it clearly isn't working for him

However, if he leaves and becomes as great as everybody expects him to be, we will have lost out on his talent. One our rivals will sign him and give him what he wants whilst gaining his talent for their squad. But i feel we have done the right thing in offering him £30k take it or leave it.it will be disappointing to see him go like this but no player is bigger than the club and there isnt a player that cannot be replaced, no matter how much talent they have, so we have stood up and done the right thing imo

Re: Sturridge Gone? [Merged]

a legend in his own lunchtime. he is not the first to have real talent and poor judgement .To give in to excessive demands causes havoc within the dressing-room. Sadly we need to let him go

If he's considered good enough for Chelsea then surely thats sufficient proof he's good enough for us to to all we can to hold onto him.Our second best striker in my opinion.
