Isn't this incident strictly classed as malicious GBH? Could the police get involved?

No,it would be common assault and,secondly,Ivanovic has made no complaint.

Re: Suarez

Would love the guy in our team but he would bring too much baggage, funny as it sounds I could see whisky nose going for him. Quality player but a total dick of a person, I suspect he has played his last game in England. I can, t see any way back for him now.

Goofy twunt

Underlying the premise of criminal law, is the prerogative that the true "victim" of any criminal activity is not the particular individual harmed by the crime, but rather the whole fabric of society (represented by the state). Therefore, even though a complainant may not wish to see their assailant arrested or tried, it is the state which decides whether it will pursue the matter or not.

Sometimes, as a matter of practicality, if a victim is reluctant to cooperate in the prosecution the state will let the matter drop. However, neither the complainant`s cooperation or consent are legally required for the prosecution and conviction of a criminal offence

Reading and listening to some comments by Liverpool fans defending him I am embarrassed for them. A precedent has been set by the Dutch FA on this one, 7 games. Now I also believe that past crimes should come into account, he's no angel and should have at least 12-15 games.

Joey Barton got 12 for kicking off with a few of our players last year, as cowardly as that was it was no where near as bad as biting someone.

He is going to get a minmum of 12

Had the ref seen it and sent him off tha would be 3, the tariff is always doubled and then the commission will have to look at several factors:

a.The applicable Law(s) of the Game and any relevant FIFA instructions
and / or guidelines;
b. The nature of the incident including the Player’s state of mind, in
particular any intent, recklessness or negligence;
c. Where applicable, the level of force used;
d. Any injury to an opponent caused by the incident;
e. Any other impact on the game in which the incident occurred;
f. The prevalence of the type of incident in question in football generally;
g. The wider interests of football in applying consistent punishments for

Even if ll hat wasnt bad enough there are some other damming things that are just going to stack up

1) He has been the subject of a FA charge withinthe last 5 years where he was warned as to his future conduct
2) He has been the subject of another charge for a similar offense albeit in Holland but it will be taking into account

Thoughts?

Re: Suarez

Granted its not unheard of in certain circumstances,however,in this situation,without a victim statement,and it being such a low category assault,coupled with the fact the sporting body will issue their own punishments regarding disrepute,i would be gob smacked if the CPS even blinked at it nevermind considered it worthy of a prosecution.

Stranger things though i guess.......

Re: Suarez

I think we have a case of Smeagol/Gollum split personality disorder with Suarez. Ivanovic clearly stole his precious!

Plus he tried to make out he'd been whacked on the head, and then feigned a leg/hip/back injury that was making him limp. The guy is a walking bag of shite.
