Surely the ref should only have needed to ask Suarez whether he bit Ivanovic or not? If he'd said yes, then appropriate punishment. If he'd said no, then teeth extraction after the review.

Whilst football clubs aren't exactly known for being the worlds moral beacon, I think this does make a big difference when talking about the very biggest and thus heavily press and sponsorship exposed clubs. The sort of clubs Suarez really belongs at, at a footballing ability level at least. You get plenty of questionable journeymen making the rounds at Stoke, West Ham etc, but no-one gives a toss because they all by and large fly under the radar. As a forward at Bayern, Madrid, Barca, it's impossible to do. He was this talented when leaving Ajax, yet only Liverpool took a punt.. maybe explains why.
