Suarez - banned for 4 months (page 74)

888poker have binned him and reports are starting to emerge that adidas are about to announce they are to sack him off as well.

This pleases me more than the ban! I thought the ban was WAY too lenient, but this helps reduce my anger about that. He will lose out on a lot of money if both of these sponsors get rid of the ****.
888 Poker are the guardians of moral integrity now - lol

Wonder where Liverpool stand in paying him while he is banned??, can't see how he could be entitled to any wages , the **** should of been sent down

Will depend on how his contract is worded . I've always wondered if footballers still draw salary during a ban. Anyone ITK on this?

In English football the maximum fine allowable is two weeks salary.

Liverpool could possibly argue against paying him on the basis that he is unable (due to his ban) to fulfill his contractual obligations. I.e. A ban from all footballing activities essentially means he cannot fulfill his side of the contractual bargain. Liverpool suing FIFA won't help their cause however.

Wouldn't be surprised if Liverpool probably stick by him and get him to sign a new contract or take legal action.

Besides, after he basically dragged Liverpool into the top 4 he will be looked after.

Yep agree with that but I think if they do they will get into real murky water in terms of breech of contract opening up the real possibility that he could argue a case to end his contract early and without compensation to Liverpool although as with Mutu at Chelsea there are avenues to pursue any club that then goes on sign players in such circumstances

I think Liverpool will be afraid to stop his wages. They've pandered to him on just about every issue and he doesnt strike me as the type that would willingly accept it.

What transfer fee you think they'd get for him? Lpool fans still think 70-80 million.

The only way Liverpool could refuse to pay his wages (presuming there's no small print allowing it) would be to cancel his contract full stop and there's no way they'll do that. They'll either have to swallow or sell him, the 2 weeks maximum fine would be a given I think.

At some stage somebody has got to get a grip on modern day footballers before it all goes too far.

Time wasting, feigning injury, shirt pulling, crafty elbowing, stepping on an opponents foot after attempted tackle, waving imaginary cards etc etc.

We can all see it going on but the authorities and clubs do F'All about it.

Suarez is the tip of the iceberg and Strachan was correct in all he said!

Definitely. The imaginary card problem could be dealt with immediately, wave an imaginary card get one yourself.

Unfortunately I`ve seen both Zaba and Mr Silva do that.Always pisses me off.
Perfectly understandable Silva does it. He gets kicked from pillar to post and probably 1/5 of the tackles that warrant a yellow or red on him actually get the required card. He must get frustrated with it.
