Good Player, vile human being! And not really a good PR image for any club he plays for

He certainly doesn't fit the image that City seem keen to promote.

Re: Suarez

Yaya didn't win POTY due to the colour of his skin????
Sorry but that's absolute bollocks

Re: Suarez

Great player but an utter cock. I hope he breaks his leg against Italy, give him something proper to skrike about.

What other justification can there be? He was the highest scoring midfielder by a long margin, and managed third overall. He also managed to do so in important games, whilst Suarez was busy being anonymous. He was also responsible for getting us into some remarkable positions in games. He contributed the best attributes of Suarez, Gerrard and Sterling with his goals, passes and runs. It's Yaya's opinion that race played a big part in the voting and it's also mine. If he had been called Yaya Turner he would have been POTY.

Re: Suarez

England's defence is like a mid-table PL defence - therefore, no surprise to see him bang in a couple of goals against them.

is deservedly POTY in one of the best leagues
Not really. His main job is to score goals for his team. He was highest scorer by fluke caused by injuries to his competitors combined with circumstances with his team that meant rotation was not needed. Aguero scored a goal every 75 minutes he played whilst Suarez was over 100. Yaya had a better season than Suarez and would have won POTY but for the colour of his skin, whilst Aguero would have been the top striker in the league but for injury. Suarez barely made the top 5 in the league based on the number of minutes he played for every goal he scored, a fairly key metric for a striker, and he had a habit of going missing during the important games. The simple fact is that they didn't play in Europe and had short cup runs, reducing the need for rotation, which meant he had more playing time to score league goals. No doubt a good player, but I think he wasn't deserving of POTY over Yaya.

Aguero missing so many games is rightly a factor. The award is based on a whole season not a series of bursts.

By the same token, Yaya should have finished either first or second had the vote been taken at the end of the season. If I'd been voting I'd have been torn between the two. So I can accept Suarez on merit.

Votes are opinions at the end of the day. The "colour of his skin" contention holds no more water for me than some of Yaya's other (alleged) utterances.

Re: Suarez

World Class player with hunger.

Up to the footballing authorities to cut out the dives. Why would his manager tell him to stop when it works? I have never seen a club get so many penalties and so many free-kicks as Liverpool last season. It makes you wonder if he was encouraged by their manager to go down. Especially when you see other Liverpool players do it

I hate the way he plays. The City v Liverpool league game at the Etihad last season was a joke in the last 20 minutes as he became increasingly desperate to win penalties and free-kicks, and yet after the game all Rodgers wanted to talk about was an offside call.
