He's shining now because he's the focal point of Liverpools attack.
In our team I seriously doubt he'd outperform Tevez or Aguero. He has been expected to score all Liverpools goals, plus they don't face the same 11 behind the ball from the opposition that we do.
I mean look at Liverpool's top scorers in the league, Suarez is first with 15, Gerrard has 4 and then next highest is 1. Ours are shared more or less evenly between Dzeko, Aguero and Tevez with 9, 8 and 7.
Would be a waste of money on from a footballing point of view and obviously he's a ratbag from a non-footballing point of view. No thanks.
Its not because he's the focal point. It's because of the new style of football that Brendan Rodgers has embedded into Liverpool which has made Suarez their standout striker. At Ajax, Suarez 111 goals, got 39 assists and only in 159 appearances. For Uruguay, he has 30 in 60. The quality is easily seen.
Tevez is unlikely to sign a new contract and he hasnt really been hisself. Thats why im all for signing suarez since he will fill the void left by tevez should he leave.
He's certainly their standout striker, he's been the only one for the past few months! What's the difference between me saying 'focal point' and you saying 'standout striker' anyway? Sounds like semantics to me.
Obviously he's a good player, I just don't think he's any improvement on Tevez or Aguero. If we're going to sign a new starting striker, I'd rather it be one who could either offer something different or is better than the ones we have (or both).
