IMO Suarez is one of the best five players in the world.

I'll ask you the same question that I asked somebody in another thread:

How come only Arsenal are in for him, then?

Because he is a fucking loon.

I don't think he is in the top 5 either; now if he stopped spending so much time trying to cheat and being a pain in the arse on the pitch well then he really would be up there.

I thought he had the season of his life last year and think it's unlikely he'll play so well again. Missed loads of chances the year before and was so greedy. Might work out but it's a big risk at that price. I think they are in greater need of a keeper, centre half and midfielder personally.

According to one of the tabloids arsenal are coming in with a £51 million bid.

No chance they'll bid more than Chelsea paid for Torres. They can still take the moral high ground in that case.

I am sympathetic towards the player here.

LFC can make a big profit on him, and the existence of the clause effectively proves that he wanted to go should LFC fail to get into Europe and a CL come in for him - even if it is badly worded and not enforceable

And the stupid thing about it is that LFC are getting value for money here. He maybe a World Class player. He was arguably as good as Bale last season, but he's also a player who is on very very thin ice regarding his future in the Premiership. He is a marked man.

I do hope so.

Definitely worth trying but surely would have defeated the object of buying both Negredo and Jovetic?

Do they just make this stuff up?

Yup. Completely fabricated.

As good as Marca?

At least Marca have some contact to Real Madrid and do break some legitimate sounding stories. SportsDirect News just blatantly make stuff up.

Brendan Rogers giving it the big one about Suarez and his lack of loyalty in todays papers(ssn)..
papers then go on ta talk about Rogers lack of loyalty to his previous club before he went to Reading..

Anyone who thinks suarez has got one loyal bone in his body needs to go to the deluded clinic.

That's quality. Thing is, when you think about it there's very little loyalty in football these days but plenty of hypocrisy (as evidenced by Rodgers and his comments). Of course, I'll add that this isn't just confined to Rodgers and Liverpool Football Club.

Rodgers also spoke about doing things the "Liverpool Way" with integrity, etc. Well, if (I say if because it wouldn't surprise me if Suarez is lying of course) it turns out that Suarez does have a clause in his contract allowing him to leave for a certain amount if Liverpool didn't get into the top 4 and Liverpool are trying to renege on that, does that equate to the "Liverpool Way" and doing things with integrity Brendan?

Loyalty works both ways in football and while it's normally the players that get the stick, the fact is that clubs are often happy to get rid of players if they've had their use out of them or they don't live up to expectations. In this instance, Suarez is clearly a quality player so Liverpool are loathe to let him go (understandable of course) but Stewart Downing, who has proved to be mediocre for them so far, is clearly not in their future plans so they're keen to offload him.
Well said. There's a direct correlation between Liverpool's "loyalty" to Suarez and his relative quality to the rest of the squad, in actual fact to the exclusion of any objective analysis of his behaviour, at east hitherto. This applies to the owners, the management and the supporters. In a way it's understandable: with their fading light as a force, any player with genuine quality was always going to be given a ridiculous amount of slack. Throw in a character like Suarez and you have the perfect storm for misbehaviour.

The only suitable word to describe the comments I have heard from Liverpool fans in relation to Suarez of late, is pathetic. They are suddenly contemplating the fact that all might not been have as it seemed to them in the Evra incident. (Presumably) grown men and women all of a sudden considering what should have at least occurred to any sane adult as a possibility.

There's no guarantees in sport, but if Liverpool's unraveling continues, it's not going to be a pretty sight. At least our decline as a footballing force was away from the unforgiving gaze of the digital age. This could be a very intrusive decline for their supporters as the rest of the footballing world rubber-necks at their demise.
