Sub Keeper

How can it be a rumour he's considering his options if he's literally said he's considering his options?
Not sure what you are reading in my post mate.
I said, "Nobody is suggesting that his quotes are a rumour."
Somebody saying he is considering his options is not the same as saying he wants out.

I don't think anyone has said he definitely wants to leave?

My posts were in reply to the comment

"Rumours started by the press, just another made up negative."

It's clearly neither of those.

Was in response to, "With rumours of Ortega wanting to be a first choice keeper....."
Anyway, I don't care about rumours. I just hope he stays.

Rumours started by the press, just another made up negative. I'm pretty sure Stefan is pissed off with his medals and wages and is just itching to return to the German second division from whence he came.

If he moves in the summer he won’t be going to a second division team though will he.

He’s proven himself at the elite level. Bayern were after him.

Can't completely dismiss this as it has probably been mentioned he is going to become a first time Father and his partner will have some say where they would bring up their newborn.
He has a 3.5 yo. So this will be his second child. Same thought applies though, as the oldest gets close to school age, being more settled becomes important for most families.

If it is his second it does make the situation a little easier but it depends on how settled his family is.

It about money though, he wants a lot more than we have offered.

Ortega would be preffered choice ofc

Traffords needs to gain more minutes under the belt

but there are many great keepers who will leave on a free this summer

Top choices

Alex Meret - in some sense a penalty saving expert, ball distribution needs a improvement, tad bit injury prone, but it is not that big of a problem for a backup keeper.
Koen Casteels - long passing specialist, penalty saving expert, is in goalkeeping prime - 31 y/o, don't have info on short passes.

Keylor Navas - Will be 38 at end of this year, could still be quality
Rui Patricio - still quality goalkeeper

probably the best choice for me would Casteels in wage/age/performance bracket.

Doesn't sound like a City keeper,
Mandas doesn’t mind clearing the danger when needed and usually goes long with his goal-kicks. He is a solid handler of the ball and can use his quick reflexes to make a few timely saves for his team. However, the Greek custodian is still quite inexperienced at the highest level and has to figure out a way to improve his passing accuracy if he wants to prove his worth in top-flight football.
