Although I dont care for the albums your reviewing. I have to say your doing a good job. there could be a future in this mate!
Thanks.

Any requests?

Sadly not, i'd only be telling you to review albums i know are good. Still good for practice and that I guess. You thinking of going into this sort of career field?

Something in music and media, yes. So this hits both topics. :)

I too wrote a review of this album last week, but your effort is signifcantly more insightful and expressive than mine.

Why thanks, and feel free to advertise your reviews in here! I've got time; I'll have a read of it now.

Well it's not meant to go to 'press' till Monday but I'll let you have it early Bob:

T'arctics release a new album today, 'Suck It And See' - which is exactly what you'll have to do as both Kev and I got bored of them after the 2nd record and can't be arsed reviewing this one. Alex Turner's haircut is better than before so the album probably is too. Enjoy'

A lot of hard work went into this!

Hahahaha, oh go on, review the rest.

Nope, that's all they're getting from me!!

To be honest Bob I haven't heard the album in full. I'm sure I'll listen to it at some point but not before Monday.

I actually have quite a lot of respect for the Arctics. They've always done things their own way rather than what was expected of them (be it stylistically, press, gigs). They're brave enough to stand or fall on their own choices.

I liked the first two albums but for some reason Alex Turners voice started to annoy me and I always find myself skipping on when their tracks come up on shuffle. I didn't like the last album or the tracks I've heard off this one so far but it's probably a good record, just one that I suspect is not going to be to my taste.

I'm sure they'll survive without a glowing review from me :-)

Brilliant break-up album, listened to it quite a bit. Mostly Library Pictures, which has 17 plays, the rest 7, and Brick by Brick on 2, Brick by Brick really is a poor song.

To be fair to Humbug, I fell in love with it straight away, played it none stop. But I haven't been back to it in over a year. Like Shands, I found myself skipping AMs tracks every time they popped up on shuffle, don't know what it is, me growing out of them? They are the band of my era in a way, was 13/14 when they started to emerge and they got me into music, although I was already into James and Oasis due to my parents, but AM really got me in there, got me interested in proper music. Suck it And See is as good as Bob portrays it, I would recommend anyone who had doubts (like me) to give it a go. It's rekindled my love for them again. Can't wait for their winter tour (if they do one).

Good review, would have been easy to sound contrived but you avoided it. Agree with your sentiments on the whole. Not listened to an Arctics album in full since Beneath the Boardwalk but I've been absolutely loving this one especially Don't sit down and Sha la la la. Plus you can still hear the Josh Homme influence which I like.

Thanks.

I actually wrote this without looking at any other online reviews of 'Suck It and See', because no matter how hard I try to not use decsriptions already used, they always creep through into my work.

I've really enjoyed this album, and have used the words 'bloody phenomenal' on more than one occasion.
