Why can't France do what we have paid them to do?

At the risk of repeating myself for the umpteenth time what made you think leaving the EU and the Dublin Agreement would have ended any other way? We can give anyone any riches we want to but the minute they go beyond the EU's borders the EU isn't interested - why should they be? The EU have no treaty obligations to us - presumably as they would have none with Libya or Tunisia or China.
