Suella Braverman - sacked as Home Secretary (p394)

We don't elect prime ministers either but by convention they must sit in the house of commons.

Cameron can be scrutinised but by other unelected peers. I assume they'll be looking for a rotten borough to parachute him in if it is a longer term job....

We’re all technocrats these days aren’t we? Personally I think Cameron being FS with the world going to hell in a handcart is a solid move for this country. Exactly the steady, experienced, sort of person we need in the job right now.

I’m not suggesting anything but the irony of the situation.

See my and Mr K’s posts for the reasoning, which is still there and shows the irony perfectly.

It’s perfectly legal to do it. If folk don’t like it they can vote them out at the next democratic…. Bit like Brexit, although I thought Brexit was voted for by racist knuckle draggers not folk arguing the finer points about the political structure of the EU ;)

But why not Michael Heseltine or Kenneth Clarke?

I think he’s a far better choice of minister than the mob that have held office for the past few years. It doesn’t stop the irony of it being him, though.

It'll also be interesting to see what the Tory party does. I wonder if the ERG have been surprised by this and are looking at how UKIP can stay in charge of the party, or whether they need to split.

It’s also lovely that Farage might not know if he’s already in the Jungle bubble.
