That's a good shout. Jacob Rees Mogg, the prick, made this point yesterday, i was amazed by his honesty. Legal migration is 600k per year, boats about 50k per year. If you really want to reduce immigration because you feel it is out of control you are focusing on the wrong one.What do we mean by 'stopping immigration'?
Some immigration is economically necessary. This government recognises this by issuing literally hundreds of thousands of visas each year. It does not have to issue the visas. It chooses to do so because we need various types of expertise that are not generally found in dole queues. (Dave from the estate who is just about up to stacking shelves is a bit shit at performing heart operations or designing bridges.) This type of immigration is at quite a high level BTW by historic standards, but it is entirely legal and under government control.
The people in boats that people wank on about are 'asylum seekers'. It is legal for them to seek asylum. Around 80%, when processed, get approved which proves their claims are valid. The other 20% or whatever are presumably returned to wherever, where this is practical.
What changes to the above do people want?
