For once in my life I wish I remained ignorant.

Honestly now guys...

I've suffered with severe depression for most of my childhood and adult life.

I've been close a couple of times. but the on;y way I'd do it is with the gun. Everything else is too open to failure.

In my opinion it takes immense courage to commit suicide... I'm not trying to glorify it. But anyone who has taken that path deserves respect IMO.

controversial... but it's my view.

The 'Billy Shears' thread has me thinking about it.

Bizarrely enough, I was writing the section on suicide in my thesis only this morning.

Bingo, revisit it, i am trying to bring some happiness and interest to that thread :-) Around page 7...

A valid view. It takes courage to survive also though.

And, it keeps the option open anyway.

It takes more courage to carry on real courage

I shot a fish once with a .44 Magnum handgun. I didn't do the Dirty Harry speech though. 1, I knew how many bullets I had and 2, it was a fucking fish, it wouldn't have understood me anyway.

I think for a lot of people that consider it, the main reason not to go ahead is it would hurt the people you are close to i.e. parents brothers etc
