Summer Transfers

I expect......

A goalkeeper
Up to 3 defenders
2 midfielders
A striker

So at least 7 top quality first team aditions - i'd say its going to be a huge summer :-)

I mean, that doesn't really disagree with what I've suggested.

Even if you count Jesus, that's not a major squad refresh when you've still got six or more starting outfield players who were there when we won the league under Mancini. No other top six club has this issue.

Further, the fact that Bravo hasn't worked out and Zinchenko/Moreno are playing poorly for their loan clubs, and thus years away from City first team, are only further evidence of the importance of making big signings this summer.
I'm not trying to disagree that next summer is important, but even with the signings you have suggested there are no more incomings this year than last , whoever we get one is likely to be a relative failure ala Bravo that is the nature of signings. I don't doubt that we will sign some important players just a bit sceptical that Pep will regard them as more important to what he is doing than he did Sane Jesus Gundogan Stones Bravo et al.

Goalkeeper - Take your pick, not Bravo cheers.
Oxlade Chamberlain
Isco
Fabinho
Bertrand
Llorente as back up forward/different outlet. With him we win v Stoke simple as and theres a reason he has played for so many good teams/had many suitors of late

Allow Roberts & Mooy to prove themselves after successful loans

Literally all we need in my opinion

about the right. we are clearly short when having to rotate.
I agree we are short when we have to rotate but I think it is a quality problem rather than a numbers problem.

Delph Kompany Jesus and Gundogan have all played very little due to injury.
Despite this Fernando Nolito Iheanacho Garcia and Navas have all had relatively little game time.

We have one in excess of our Champions league quota so excluding those who are on loan none of whom I think will return except possibly some youngsters we have to shed one more than we buy.
If we are going to give our youngsters any game time we may need to shed some more, we clearly do need players but I think quality rather than quantity is important and would be surprised if we bring in more than six and think four or five more likely, (Excluding zinchenko, Roberts type signings) unless we are to sell one of our big players like Aguero.

Hopefully

A true number 1 keeper who can both play out from the back and save shots
An attacking RB, to complement Maffeo as the more defensive option
2 leftbacks, hopefully one attacking, one more solid
A top quality CB to replace the ghost of Kompany
A ball playing, deep midfield player to replace Yaya but also offer some semblance of cover for the defence
Another direct winger to provide cover for Sane/Sterling. If they could also cover another position, either striker of attacking midfield that would be ideal

3, 6, 5, 5.

This is how we should think of our squad.

3 Keepers: Gunn, Bravo, ? ( Willy or a new Keeper) Ederson/Rulli?

6 Defenders; 3 fullbacks and 3 Centerbacks
:
FB: Maffeo, LB? , RB? ( one or both able to play on both sides) Heinrich and Perreira?

CB: Stones Kolarov, Otamendi or new player.

Midfield: Silva, Debryune, Gundogan, Isco Dihno

Forward: Aguero, Sterling, Sane, Jesus, Traore/Roberts.

Which means definitely getting 2 fullbacks and 1 CM.

Possibly a goalie, a center back, and a striker

I think only martyn and demechelis were released at end of last season and we bought 9 players that I can think of, putting 3 out on loan. The previous year we released less than we brought into the club also , sending some out on loan immediately Before any player arrives next season we will have to get rid of 10 to 15 players which I think is impossible.

19 players including 3 'keepers? That means on premier league matchdays all except one 'keeper would be in the team or on the bench when we have no injuries or suspensions, which will inevitably occur.
It means from the current squad selling or loaning or retiring:
Keeper
Sagna, Zab, Clichy , Kompany
Yaya, Nando Delph Garcia
Navas Nolito Iheanacho

I think we will have a larger squad than that but probably slightly smaller than we do now.
