Summer Transfers

That is wrong, just think if we would have got Maguire last season, Angelino would have been a success, Sane would not have left, who would we have bought this season? we are building towards a squad capable of going a season needing only 1 signing, a major signing, the 3 things above plus Laporte`s injury and Stones brainstorm means it will not be this season, that we go out and buy a worldy capable of paying for his fee on shirt sales alone, just as Real claimed James`s fee was, Mbappe, Haaland are definite targets if we get this window right

How can you say if we had got Maguire Sane would not have left and Angelino would be a success ?

Mbappe has already said he doesnt want to come to us - direct quote -saying he would work for Pep but not our project or something like that.

Haaland aint going anywhere this transfer window - maybe next - but we will be in competition with lots of others.

Not sure why getting Macguire last season would have meant sane not leaving or Angelino being a success - Maguire wasnt an isnt worth the money.

We wont get into bidding wars for players - when have we ever done that and not backed out pretty quick?

Think people may be missing the point about getting a CF now

Due to Covid the time and price is right for the Big transfers

Majority of clubs are having to be very careful with the money they do have and if we have large pot of money more value going in balls deep now

We havent got unlimited budget and we have to fix the entire backline which will cost money. Aké already costs £40m.

mbappe has already turned us down before!!

as much as I hate that them Liverpool and united are still a draw to some players and I can see these 2 being in that bracket.

takes a certain type of player to come to us and I don’t think those 2 mentioned players are it

Mbappe turned us down as a 17 year old who went to the biggest richest team in his Counrty he has achieved as much as he can there and will move within the next 2 years, i suggest you look at the caliber of the players bought and the fees/wages that utd and liverpool have had to buy/pay for over the last 3 years, they are not in the same in the same league as us

Who plays 442 thsee days, none of the top teams thats for sure, the top teams are much more fluid with their system, 442 is far to rigid and players are far more adaptable, it isn’t 1982.

The team at the top plays Sam Allardyce`s tactics not quite 1982 but close enough as for the 4,4,2 most teams play it when they can

Mbappe said he did not want to come at the time, Maguire is not worth the money but buying a central midfielder who could cover both positions was necessary if Angelino would have been good enough we would not still need to buy a lb, and the same for Sane if he would have stayed we would not need to buy

Let's give ourselves a £150m net-spend.

OUT:
- Sane (£50m)
- Otamendi (£10m)
- Zinchenko (£10m)
- Garcia (£25m)
Total = £95m

IN:
- Ake (£40m)
- Torres (£25m)
- Koulibaly (£80m)
- Haaland / Another great striker (£100m)
TOTAL: £245m

Probably nonsense, but not impossible.

No he said he didn’t want Manchester City but it wasn’t ever that was as an 18 year old deciding to stay in France. That said if Madrid want him that’s probably where he’d go. If they don’t or can’t afford him I don’t think we are ruled out. Don’t think either Mbappe or Haaland will move this summer anyway so depends if we want to bring in a new forward this summerto ease in or wait for Aguero to leave next summer. If it’s this summer think it will be someone else no idea who, if we wait until next summer who knows both could be available and considered.

We have got Ake and Torres for £60m

How much would they have been if Covid didn’t hit

Yes hypothetically but let’s see how this window pans out

I am sure we will prosper compared to most clubs

The dippers wouldn’t pay for Werner and Rags stuggling in a one horse race for Sancho

The plan for a striker is simple
BBuy one now but loan them back to their team for 1 year.

Edouard can be bought at a discount and loaned back to Celtics for next season. Then he can join next summer when Aguero heads home.

We shouldn't wait till the world knows we need a striker and everyone starts try to prove gouge us.

@salfordbluetrue we cannot have a 3rd striker. That's just a waste of position on a team that plays 1 striker. While I like Sterling on the wings, I like h.just as much at the top.

I saw Everton were linked with a young left back from real Madrid for 18m.
He was on loan at seville last season apparently and was voted as best left back in the league.
Can't remember his name but sure someone will know who he is.
Is he worth us looking at?

just that if those things would have happened who would we be after this season?

Your not making sense first yes we might not be after KK or whoever for right cb if we got Maguire but we would be after off we would be after Ake because he covers the left cb position. Second you have not explained how getting Maguire means Angelino is a success or Sane stays so we would be after a winger and possibly the left back midfielder and striker if the rumours about our targets are true

the first 3 are by no means improssible
Haaland aint going anywhere for another year and if we are after Kane we will miss out on him fullstop as we wont go for him next year
