Got the missus' parents round on Sunday, im cooking and i want to impress. Going to go and buy the stuff tonight, so....
What must the ultimate Sunday Dinner contain, what meat, veg etc?
What condements must be served with it, what to drink?? And what are big no-no's?
Im a relatively decent cook so should be ok with it, just want to make a good impression!

Fire away..

Mate, you're way behind already!

Dont say that! Surely im not meant to marinate the meat for a fortnight or something

Keep it simple!

Roast Beef, roast spuds, Yorkshire puddings, veg and the top class gravy. Gravy is the key to a real, proper roast dinner over a pretend roast dinner.

My old granny used to say: KISS A TIT
She honestly did...

Keep It Simple Stupid And Think It Through!

If you need a receipe for real gravy let me know. I do a 3rd generation gravy genuinely passed down over a hot stove.

Good luck.

I'd say the traditional Sunday dinner is roast beef, roast potatoes, yorkshire puddings (home made if possible, Aunt Bessie's if not), assorted veg and proper gravy, maybe some horseradish sauce too. The veg is really down to personal preference, I love carrots, particularly roasted, and broccoli, but other common ones include cabbage (maybe cooked with some bacon bits) and cauliflower. Plenty of choices though.
