and he could have had some red wine too!

Oh, I did. A lot. Cheese board too. Never had gout but I think I will soon

you may have had cheese board but i had the praise of my family - even my dad who never says anything nice to anyone (and lots of red wine). you have disappointed me after i shared with you my tip for onion gravy.

I am truly sorry, i had a rather heavy night saturday and the thought of slaving over a hot stove all sunday made me want to die. Mark my words though, i shall be doing it in a fortnight as ive made promises i cant really get out of now and your onion gravy will be taking pride of place in the middle of the table. In its own little gravy boat and everything

You just can't compare the tastes. Really worth the effort, if you have the time. Good luck with it :)

Impressive mate,I grow own veg
Carrot, peas,French and runner beans, leeks, parsnips, spring and red onion, courgettes, chilli, peppers, amongst others.

Ketchup is a must for roast dinners , I have shit loads of it swimming about on top of the gravy. My family go mental when I pour it on. But if that's what the taste buds desire, that's what they'll get.

Clearly Jamie Oliver down at the Etihad is going to be wasted on you? ;-)

Any plate that has meat on it.. MUST have ketchup. Ive been in posh restaurants and if they don't have ketchup i would rather walk out. Ketchup with gravy is a beautiful combo... but the ultimate, is Chinese... rice, ribs, chips COVERED in sweet n'sour sauce and then a massive blob of ketchup to round it off.

Disagree about the meat mate, HORSEMEAT as served in Belgium is wank with ketchup on, Mayonaise yes, ketchup no
