Sunday/Monday Storm

Only decent think i have ever heard out of fattys gob

To be fair I don't think the Met office have been the ones that over hyped it. They only ever gave out an amber warning (which in my basic understanding of the colour coding system I would take to be bad but not as bad as it could be!) It's the media and the train companies that have whipped up this storm, so to speak!

South African guy outside Ipswich station asking what the hells going on, a bit of wind and the countrys at a standstill

The countrys being laughed at and rightly so

In fairness, you would need a storm of biblical proportions to knock that fat **** over.
I must admit it is funny watching our capital grind to a halt because it's a bit wet and windy.
'But we can't get a broadband connection in Starbucks - it must be Armageddon'.
Get a grip, you soft southern tossers.

Because of '87 any possible windy day is hyped to the max. Nobody can say they weren't warned then. You'd be surprised how many people hold the BBC/Michael Fish responsible for '87 because they reported earlier that day that there wasn't going to be a storm.

And it was a belter as well! I was working in Camberley at the time, and had a ringside seat. Couldn't get out of my hotel for two days as the road was blocked with fallen trees. There was a small private airclub just up the road, and half the planes were blown into the surrounding fields, one was in a tree! It was great.

Is it the same bit of wind that has blown trees down on several railway lines across the south east?

Or are these shite soft southern trees that fall over if someone farts too near them?

I'm going for option 2 Chris. They're a product of their environment.

Absolutely.

Together with shite soft power lines that snap whenever one of these shite soft southern trees lands on top of them

:)

The beeb are reporting two people dead and 220,000 homes without power. I think i'll reserve my Southern Fairy comments for when it's over.
