Sunderland Post Match

Good game, nothing wrong with a hard fought 1-0 away.
Nice goal Agüero, we created a few good moves like that, thought we would score more. But the game was made dirty by their elbowing, going down soft, ref started helping them as soon as we scored, and their fans must've booed every one of our players.
Defence wasn't water tight but they did what was necessary. I'll give Joe a well-deserved motm for his terrific double save, nice diving one too.
Other standouts for me were Demichelis, Otamendi, Clichy, Silva worked hard, Kelechi was strong, 2 Ferns and Navas; hope he is back very soon.

Soon as i saw Yaya's name on the teamsheet i feared the worst. He has lost his mojo or summat, getting by on reputation alone now. Looks like a boxer who has gone on too long.
Somehow teams bring us down to their level (away ) when we should be dictating the game.
Rant over, as every one says, it's 3 points in the bag and chance for top spot come Saturday.

A lack of fitness or not, everything Silva touches at present turns to mush.

He is gifting cheap possession and has become something of a liability, if there can be such a thing when it comes to my favourite ever City player.

Time to start talking Leicester up as title contenders, had a free ride until now when it comes to playing without pressure.

They will find out what it's all about this Saturday.
They should do us, looking at it objectively. We look shot. It's just going to be 90 minutes of Mahrez through balls for Vardy to leg it past Demichelis. Thankfully Joe is the best around one v one, cause he'll be facing a fair few at the weekend.

3 points. Tis all that matters.

However, the core of the squad that has served us so well over the last 5 years is coming to an end. It's clear to see.

Pep has got a big summer coming up to build another spine and make this team his own.

I think the priority this year is to ensure we finish in the top 3, and go for one of the cups. If we win the league then great stuff but guaranteed CL football is what matters.

Great result , no point in negativity from here on in , get behind them and hope we get some players back from injury asap

Agree. He hardly got the ball tbf and with the way Sunderland were playing in the last 10 mins or so before half time a change was needed and he was the player I would've taken off for fernando. He ended up breaking up play a few times too.

Yeah, I with you two... Weren't great 2nd half, but the final half hour of the first half was horrific... Slightly more solid after half time

Shitty blustery conditions, hoofball, and Sunderland giving it the "cup final" treatment, few tasty tackles, the odd bit of class from City,a night to to just take the 3points and move on.
We've played far, far better against Sunderland in the past, both home and away, and either drawn or lost, so it's reassuring we can actually defend when the kitchen sink is thrown at us.
