Sunderland v City Post Match Discussion Thread

Disastrous result for us. Don't know where the next win is coming from, the team looks totally devoid of ideas and confidence.

3rd place at best this season we haven't got the balls to win this league.

People like you don't deserve these times and this team. Please dont bother going tomorrow, we need total backing, not miserable, moaning fuckers.

Really finding it hard to understand a lot of the negativity on here, particularly with regards to tomorrow's match.

Have a look at the league table, have a look at our home record this season, have a few pints before the game and have a right good sing song getting behind the boys in blue!

i joined a while back. 100% diehard sunderland but always kept my eye on man city after a spell of work in eccles many (blue) moons ago. i was looked after by a family of blues before i found my own digs.

i was at maine road in 1990 for our relegation game. anyone there that day should maybe put some of your newcomer fans right about sunderland's support. out of interest has any team ever taken more to maine road?

all the best and happy new year.
remember a replay against the barcodes on wednesday afternoon late 50s iirc, that is the closest to your lot. not as noisy though :)

WE NEED A RIGHT WINGER SO BADLY IT HURTSSS. And johnson played mediocre, but let's not crucify the guy!

I did not see the match as I was with the family with it being New Years Day, but there has been so many negative comments on here I thought I would check out the extended highlights on the City site (yes I know it will be biased), but looking at that, we appeared to play OK, had to shots off the bar and should have scored on at least 2 other occassions, so if that is us playing badly then I am quite happy. Yes I have posted that I think the wheels have come off a little, but I do not think after seeing that, that there is much we need to do differently, the only grips I have is that we need to move the ball quicker to open up "parked" defences, if we can do this then I am sure we will get back to winning ways quickly and hopefully tonight.

Lets all try and be unlike City fans and a little more positive! COME ON CITY!

I heard Gary Owen on Talk Sport this afternoon and he reckons the reason we
only picked up 1 point from the last 2 away games was 'bad finishing'. Simple
as that and shooting practice was needed in training. I agree with him.

He reckoned the match tonight with the scousers will be wide open as they will be going for a win to maintain their top 4 challenge.

Re: Bobbys reaction after today ...

His reaction is about right. We pummeled Sunderland today.
We went out with the right attitude, not complacent or arrogant, like other teams who expect the opposition to roll over after a chorus of 'happy birthday".

Luck deserted us, roll on Tuesday. I can't see AJ starting for a while now, he really missed an opportunity to shine today.

I'm sorry but that's exactly what cost you the game, how many of your players chased back as Larsson, McClean, Ji, Sessegnon and Elmohamady broke forward at the death?
