Sunderland Vs City Post match Discussion Thread

Can't find a glimmer of anything positive to say. Our away record would be far more humiliating if all the other fancied sides didn't also seem to have a death wish. Because of that I don't think we are actually out of it as far as the title goes. The most depressing aspect is that the players don't seem to have a clue how to fix the problem away from home and I am shutting my eyes every time our defence is in action - if that is fixed we stand a chance, if not we are going to struggle for top 4 and if we miss that I honestly don't know where we go from their.. With the amount of investment we've had losing 4 years on the trot away to Sunderland is beyond embarrassing.
You're right and it's not as if our players don't get any support. Tickets sell out every game. How bad would they be with the away support the likes of Fulham get? It's about time the players started to treat their followers with respect and put in a fucking shift for them.

Just to repeat to put this season in perspective:

The scum are having their worst season in a good while and everyone has been laughing at them. They are now ahead of us in the league.

Let that sink in for a moment.

Our AWAY league form isn't good this season.

Edited for accuracy

Ah, yeah that's true.

There is no one to blame today except the players.

MP picked a side more than capable of beating an absolutely shocking Sunderland team.

It wasn't about the formation, it wasn't about silva or fernandinho or Garcia or navas or whoever else. It wasn't about the subs.

They just didn't look arsed. There was no desire, no fight, no hunger and an utter lack of application.

Our youth team could've beat Sunderland. They are fucking abysmal.

But this shower think theyre above it. It's all to easy for them. They don't need to try in these small games. They only need to turn up at home and everything is great.

Look at utd today. They weren't great by any stretch but my god they put a fucking shift in. There was no way in their heads they were getting anything less than 3 points today. It wasn't going to be allowed.

I can take 'mistakes' or injuries but to play like a spoilt bunch of little girls is unacceptable in my book.

This isn't MPs fault and it wasn't RMs fault.

It's the players'.

FWIW I agree with that too mate, and believe me, you're not the only club suffering due to players attitudes. They get paid regardless of the result, so why bother? Becoming all too apparent right across the league now.

Wow, insightful. Players get paid a lot right across the league regardless of the result.

Seriously what kind of tool comes onto a club's forum straight after beating them? Geordie-lite tosser.

Wtf's that meant to mean? Never seen a light geordie in me life. And apologies for pointing out that it doesn't just happen to teams that players flock to primarily for the wage they'll be paid

Wow. Not sure what else to say really. 4 in a row against you lot now, who'd have thought it? These annual visits to your forum are becoming a thing of tradition for me now... Cheers for the 3 points today, MUCH appreciated! ;) :)

Annual visits eh? So you dont participate in any form of debate on another club's forum, you simply come on to gloat post-victory?

Would it be fair to call that **** behaviour?

Have been on for the craic once or twice, not really a lot to talk about though unless we're playing each other is there! Only other thing was Niall Quinn...

Its always sad to say goodbye to old friends and unless we get relegated this year then its goodbye from us, will deffo keep an eye on you in the lower leagues.!!

very sad....very sad indeed..brings a tear,it really does.... ;)
Dont worry - He'll be back in his hole by the time christmas comes round. I live and work in Sunderland and their fans are deluded. When they are winning (which isn't very often) they are gonna win the cup, finish top 6 etc,etc... then a few week later it's back to doom and gloom. Would love to see them relegated. A good season for them is beating the Geordies at home and drawing away then beating us in their cup final.

You sure you live in Sunderland & not Newcastle marra? Cos that's their fans you're describing, not ours...

They won't go down with Poyet in charge.

3 from Palace, Fulham, Sjoke, Norwich, Cardiff or Hull.

Cheers mate, FWIW I agree, Poyet's ethic seems to be spot on, we're seeing the benefits already (3 out of 3 at home since he took over)
Think i know the difference between the 2 "marra"
One is a city full of vibrancy, character and dynamism
The other is a shithole with a good TESCO's

My diappiontment is waning and a determination is returning

As it should for the players and staff

There is nothing. Between the top 8

All to play for come on city

You like it so much over there why are you in Sunderland? You can't be born & bred there, or anywhere nearby, as like I pointed out, you've got your description of the fans up here completely the wrong way around. Never once heard a Sunderland fan say "we'll finish top 6" Heard plenty of mags call Man Utd their rivals though, as well as compare themselves to Barcelona & the likes...

Been saying it all along, Garcia, Kolarov, Milner not good enough. Without Silva the team look devoid of ideas. Yaya - what did he do today?

Sunderland are going down!!

I don't know if it has been said before, but I can't understand why we changed a winning side when we have no midweek game following this one.
The media will feast on this, our away form has been dodgy and this was a perfect chance to batter a poor side and give us a kick start in that regard.
Poor team selection for me. I hope Pellegrini learns from this.
