Sunderland Vs City Post Match Thread

Pellegrini got this spot on tonight. Strong team to win the game in the first half, then we game managed and saved legs for the early kick off on Saturday and gave a couple of the kids some game time in a pressure-free situation. Where are all those people that were slating him for his selection in the pre-match thread now?

Team selection was perfect got a good lead to allow the youth a run out. Can only beat whats in front of you but my god what was in front of us was shocking. Feel sorry for the Sunderland fans as I can't see them avoiding relegation again this season.

He doesn't need a kick up the arse,he needs support to get through a difficult time
It's himself that's making things difficult, just feel a bit of complacency is kicking in, showboating instead of knocking the ball into the net for example

Job done, but feel that Sergio needs a kick up the arse, not sure his mind is completely on it, felt the same way about him so far this season - needs sorting imo

Think he would have benefited from a longer break after his summer exploits, and he doesnt seem to be playing instinctively; tonight he should have scored but was too wrapped up in sticking it to Coates.

Great performance.

Delighted with the result and the fact that 'right' players scored.

Super Kev continues to delight and it was great to see Sergio and Raheem on the scoresheet again.

But the biggest thrill of the night was George Evans finally making his first-team début.

The first lad to play for City at every level; a fantastic achievement. And I believe he's the first George to play for the seniors since our title-winning centre-half and former pub landlord, George Heslop.

Unless anyone knows better.
Does Georgi count ?
