Why rest a player who is in fine form in a game we need to win?

4 days rest followed by an international break - no need to rest anyone. Keep the winning formula.

After their 2 reds they won't be so keen to try and kick us off the park. At least that dirty tw&t Cattermole is banned.

Don't we have to take into account that players get fatigued on International duty? Many of the players that featured yesterday will jet off after Sunday's game, play a couple of games and then jet back just before the Spurs game. I'm not saying we rest them all on Sunday, but including a couple of players that will not be on International duty such as Richards and Lescott might not be a bad idea.

Play the best team we can, no changes should be made that are not forced. The players didn't have too tough a time of things last night. With the International Break many will be rested and rotated, they are friendlies and I am sure a business class flight here there and everywhere will not impact too much. We have a few home games now and can rotate following the International Break should we need to. I don't believe in changing a winning side unless forced to or for a competition that is less demanding. A side that has scored 12 goals in 2 games should be kept, especially as it is not a ground we have had much success at recently, and our away form has not been good in the league. Win at Sunderland and we are looking at a return of 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats in the league. 5 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats is all competitions away from home. That starts to look a little better.

I have a feeling Sunderland will double up on Silva and Nasri if they both play.

The decision may be made for us by the injury, but even if it isn't I would be tempted to play Navas and Kolarov - get some extra pace and width and get behind the Sunderland defence.

Every bloody year we go up there, dominate possession, have about 500 shots on goal and then invariably lose to their one shot on target, probably scored by Adam Johnson. I don't care what the team is we get an early goal and we'll roast them, that has been missing from most of our away league games this season. Also were long overdue an outrageous stroke of fortune at their place too. Oh and their crap and I think will get relegated. All points to a nice relaxing Sunday afternoon, oh yes.

Fucking sick of losing this game.

Strongest team possible should start, int break afterwards, fuck their countries, the club pay the players, we should go out with EXACTLY the same approach we've had in the last 2 home games and that 7-0 might not last too long as highest pl win if we do.

I can't imagine Silva will play, but if Sunderland are going to use 4 players to specifically nullify 2 of ours, then they're going to have a great time with Aguero, Negredo and Yaya!

Echo the sentiments about being fucking sick of Sunderland away. Every cloud though, they could finally get relegated this season and we won't have to worry.

Straight reds and 3 game bans, although with Cattermole its something like his seventh prem red card in about 4 years, all for violent conduct, he really should get a longer ban.

Cant see any changes up front he will play Negrado/Sergio but midfield may be issue if Fernando/Silva out . Navas would be a good player to come in, he has had a nice rest since Newcastle cup game and will be fresh

I think winning at Sunderland should have been another goal before the season started. If there is an unhappy ground lately it's Sunderlands'. A triple 0-1 with a last minute penalty, a last-minute off-side goal and AJ scoring against us. Terrible ...

Compared to last year we are already in the 2nd round of the LC and through to the knock-out phases in the CL. Beating Sunderland at their place would be another step foreward compared to last season.

We need to play our strongest side in all games. Sunderland play tonight so they will have less time to prepare for the game on Sunday. Should Southampton beat them tonight, it could completely deflate them, for the game on Sunday. This is a must win game if we're to challenge for the title come May, can't afford to drop to many points from now until the end of the season, otherwise we will be fighting for 2nd place again.
