Super League Aftermath.

How will they decide who plays who? The usual top seeds can't play top seeds, can't play a team from your home country? 10 games? All about the money and keeping the 'istory clubs involved, they even get to play extra games if they don't get in the top 8. Clubs will lap it up.

I think the new European football format is the final straw that will finish me with football. I know City have to be in Europe for money and (to a point) prestige, but I have never really warmed to the CL, and this new format is 20 times worse. How the hell can you have a 'league' where you only play certain teams? It's made-up, money-making bollocks.

If I want to take in a match, I can always go to Prestwich Heys. The standard will be shit, but at least they play in a real, understandable competition.

You say the standard will be shit but I bet they don't fall to the floor screaming like a girl every 5 minutes.

And yes I did type girl (giggle)

I wonder how much of the new format will be changed if the ECJ find in favour of UEFA (as a regulator and operator with power to disapprove other competitions in some circumstances), and the threat of effective breakaways finally dismissed.

It's dreadful, clearly American influenced and designed to keep the history clubs in the money, just what they all want. Cynics may suggest the super league was just a show so they could get this pile of shite through relatively unopposed because it's not quite as bad as that. Its not far off though. Really hope we win it before then so I can fuck it off as this comes in.

I hate the sound of this new format. How can it be fair with teams playing select teams only. I can see our 10 against some elite and Rags 10 v the minnows. Although group stages atm can be dull at times, at least you qualify on merit, with everyone in the group playing the same opposition. As for teams in it who have not legally qualified, what a joke, be the same old teams and we know who they are. Ie Rags get in as they did not qualify, but surely being in it they earn more co efficient points so no one else can get In via the same route if they fail to qualify legally the next season.

we should just let them walk away and fuck them ? who needs to be fake european champions anyway

the english clubs that get shit on all the time by the so called 2 elite clubs utd and scouce and i think they are forgetting why they are so called elite ? by playing 38 games in the top league week in week out

manchester city should lead the stand and say we will be still here and there is enough big clubs without the 2 scum clubs to have a very good league sett up and probably end up a better clubs

The original founders of the European Super League, which crashed spectacularly last year, will sound out clubs across Europe in the next few months over a potential new format for their competition, having abandoned their original plan to have permanent members.

I think the English clubs are happy to sit on the sidelines to see which way this goes. At the minute the narrative is "we listened to the fans blah blah blah"

But if everybody is onboard and it looks like happening again then they can sign up regardless of what fans want.

What ever way you look at it, a super league of some format will happen in the near future, due to the amount of money to be made.
