Supermarket fuel v branded fuel ?

On a separate issue, the aluminium heat protection plate above the exhaust has just fallen off. On a scale of 0 to 100, how essential is it that I get a new one on my Honda FRV?

Depends how hot you like your arse. To be realistic I'd get one fitted as the heat rising through the floor pan could be an issue. The heat shields are usually around the hand brake area and there you have all sorts of electrical components fr reversing light switches, handbrake light switches and so on. You melt them and thats a further problem particularly if you fry something that is then an MOT failure.

Your cornflakes analogy is bollocks mate, Kelloggs make the best, others copy and most are utter vile and should be moulded into voodoo dolls of Maureenio instead of wastingmilkon them.

Folly. It's all the same just in different boxes. Same with beans. Anyone who only buyz Heinz Beanz is just a snob.

Kelloggs say they don't make cereals for anyone else. They are the best and worth paying the extra for. If you want to eat basics supermarket cornflakes that taste no different than soggy Jigsaw pieces, It's fine by me mate.

I once spent 5 years in a research establishment where one of the tasks I had perform was to compare the chemical constitution of different fuels and the chemicals coming out of the exhaust. I can assure you there is no difference between the various 'makes' if fuel. As has been alluded to here they all come from the nearest refinery. Hence we no longer see adverts for fuels that have better mpg etc. Water is a naturally occurring when petrol is combusted in an engine and it exits the nearest hole, hence the reason exhaust pipes rot.
